7 Instagram Accounts For Lovers Of Fashion And Books

Untitled design (6)

It is the best of both worlds for those of us who love fashion and books at ELLE. So, when I was assigned this piece to write about new book accounts to follow, I figured why not combine both fashion and books, for isn’t picking out a book from a row of shelves based on its cover and summary kinda sorta similar to picking out a dress from a rack based on its colour and texture?

So, without further ado, here are 7 accounts, which perfectly capture #fashionandbooks with snappy and aesthetic photos (and reviews).

@threeofstyle

Matching your shoes and handbag perfectly to each other is an old-school concept. The latest trend is to match your book to your handbag. The meticulously planned and curated grid is a fashion look book that will keep up enthralled and inspired.

Follow if you want to find out what are the trendiest books on the gram.

@literaturelipstick

So, now that your book matches your bag, it’s time for your lipstick. Meet Megan of @literaturelipstick, where she matches her lipstick to the book she is reading. A delightful way to discover new shades to try on and new books that you might want to read.

Follow if you want to know which latest book to read from YA, fantasy, gothic or classics.

@lattes_lipstick_literature

Kimberly of @lattes_lipstick_literature stands in front of her bookshelf and her closet, deciding which book to read and what outfit would match the cover. The result. — an eclectic mix and match of clothes (some of which are thrifted) that are a call to either the book cover or a character.

Follow if you want to know what are the popular books in contemporary romance, cosy mysteries, queer romance, and gothic reads.

@oh_apostrophe

Deborah has her entire grid profiling her in clothes that compliment the covers of books that she’s posing with. From decadent cocktail dresses, to fluffy tulle skirts, and full length gowns, O’Donell’s account is a visual and mesmerising delight.

Follow if you are looking for contemporary fiction, mystery, and thrillers.

@bookwormscloset

Gitte Tofte is a book reviewer living in Denmark. She pairs her books with incredible shoes from her closet. The effect is striking, and gorgeous. Carrie Bradshaw would give her a follow.

Tofte reviews mostly contemporary books, translated literature (she has a highlight on Japanese books, which you should definitely check out), and a sprinkling of children’s books.

@nayareadsandsmiles

Nai’a of @nayareadsandsmiles is a popular booktube-r. Her instagram grid captures her impressive knack of replicating her make up and outfit to match that of her current book she is reading and review.

Follow if you want to pick your next read from YA, fantasy, and books by black authors.

@bookpop_

Victor of @bookpop_ is credited on social media for creating the #bookcovericons challenge where people have to match a book cover to their favourite celebrity icon. The results are imaginative, spectacular, and embodies the celebration of good design truly can bring two widely different interests (books and fashion) together to celebrate good and inspiring design.
