Established in 1921, Gucci as a name is synonymous with everything luxury and continues to hold the reigns even after a century of being in the business. Mumbai recently witnessed the grand opening of a new Gucci store as part of the brand’s expansion into India. Over 5800 square feet in size, the store is housed at Jio World Plaza in the Bandra Kurla Complex and features a large assortment of things for men and women, including ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, jewellery, and accessories, as well as Gucci Décor pieces.
A beautiful façade greets guests with a multi-hued geometric motif whose veining delicately surrounds the House’s insignia. Marble is used extensively, an ode to the timeless legacy of the brand, with the interior design boasting of an elegant marble flooring that draws inspiration from patterns seen in old historic buildings.
The walls are covered in soft, rich fabrics in lighter tones that blend in perfectly with the ivory boiserie that serves as a delicate backdrop for the goods on show. The hand-painted wood flooring has ornate designs that alludes to pieces from the House’s collections. The store environment’s refined and understated attractiveness is enhanced by the use of clean lines and a muted colour scheme.
The store is also framed with built-in displays that resemble walk-in closets, and freshly designed racks that are reminiscent of traditional brass designs gently accommodate a variety of product categories. The Kering subsidiary’s central story is addressed through the aesthetic interaction between components sourced from many locations and times, creating an environment that is both sophisticated and unexpected.
The new boutique was created utilising LEED rules and principles as part of Gucci’s commitment to implementing and improving eco-friendly initiatives and energy-efficient technologies in the House’s locations globally. Truly a visual treat for those with intersecting passions of contemporary architecture and luxury.
