For starters, the athleisure trend isn’t going anywhere. One look at Namrata Joshipura’s Autumn/Winter ’17 collection and you’ll be hoping it doesn’t go away soon either. The designer gave us a fresh take on the street style favourite on day 2 of Amazon India Fashion Week.
Varsity shirts took over the runway in every silhouette of the spectrum, paired with slit pants and tassled skirts. Not sure how to make athleisure work you without looking like you’ve just fallen out of bed? Work in a shimmer of glitter, (the Namrata Joshipura army pledged their allegiance to statement pendants) back-slung caps and a pair of blingy kicks, of course.
For evening wear, the designer threw up luxe jumpsuits, velvet power suits and peplum midis. Still riding the Dear Zindagi high, Alia Bhatt breezed in with her showstopper game face in place, before breaking down into a giggle. Her beaded jumpsuit came with a heavy dose of fringe, slicked back hair and nude lips. Anybody else feeling fall-ready too?
