Tracing The Growth Of Brand Deepika Padukone: Endorsements, Campaigns And More

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone juggles multiple roles – that of a philanthropist, an investor, a mental health advocate & signs great scripts (for the most part). So, it’s no revelation that she’s emerged as one of the most unproblematic, relatable & loved A lister of the Bollywood brigade. Maybe it’s her personality, maybe it’s her work ethic. Maybe she’s born with it.

Whatever the potion to scaling the rocky heights is, her stature is corroborated by the plethoric brand collaborations & endorsements lined up, at the behest of her oh so secret mantra to success. From signing deals with Cartier & Louis Vuitton to Levis, a stoppage is the least of her worries.

Let’s walk through some of Deepika Padukone’s most memorable international brand collaborations yet.

On October 3rd 2022, the iconic french jewellery brand Cartier formally announced Deepika Padukone as the brand’s newest ambassador. What could be summed up as a bid to extend Cartier’s repute in the Indian subcontinent, this strategic expansion move was lauded by multiple industry watchdogs, fashion business publications & the legions of her fans globally.

Louis Vuitton

Quite pally with Nicolas Ghesquière aka the Women’s Creative Director of Louis Vuitton, Deepika Padukone was the first Indian woman to play ambassador for the luxury house. It was also reported that she accounted for more than 25 percent of the media impact value generated for the brand during the Cannes Film Festival by the marketing & analytics agency ‘Launchmetrics.’ Talk about return on investment.

Joining the likes of Jane Fonda, Blake Lively & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone officially entered the LOréal Paris circuit back in 2017. The beauty behemoth’s haircare & makeup range saw a resounding audience approval post TV endorsements & print ads starring the icon. And yes, I personally did switch over to a LOréal shampoo during this period.

FIFA 2022

Deepika became the first Indian to unveil the football World Cup trophy before a final.  She was accompanied by Iker Casillas, captain of the 2010 World Cup-winning Spanish team, during the pre-match ceremony. “From unveiling the FIFA World Cup Trophy to witnessing one of the greatest games in sporting history. I truly couldn’t have asked for more,” Deepika Padukone wrote after becoming the first Indian to unveil the football World Cup trophy before a final.

In addition to all of these commercial partnerships, Miss Padukone also introduced her own skincare line, 82°E (pronounced Eighty-Two East), which was named after the meridian that runs longitudinally through India and establishes the time zone for that nation. In her own words, Deepika, “Practicing small acts of self-care consistently helps me stay grounded and enables me to feel my most centred wherever I am in the world. I want 82°E to serve as an inspiration for all of us to connect with our most genuine selves through regular, modest self-care routines.
