But sometimes, going back to your roots and revisiting ancient, time-tested remedies can do the trick, especially if you’re someone who steers clear of chemical-laced products. The inspiration

It all began when Sadhev’s co-founders, mother-son duo Jayadevi and Lasakan Cholayil were visiting their ancestral home in Kerela, to pay their respects to their forefather Cholayil Kunju Maami Vaidyar. Vaidyar was a master ayurveda practitioner who two hundred years ago, was very well-known for his potions and cures. With all the ancient knowledge at their disposal, in 2019, Lasakan and his mother decided to share these remedies with beauty enthusiasts around the world.

The philosophy

Sadhev follows a simple philosophy: To feel and look your best, your three doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) need to be perfectly balanced. And to do this, the brand has a wide range of skin, hair and bodycare products, as well as wellness treatments that work to reverse the damage caused by external factors, like stress and pollution.

The ingredients

To ensure they deliver only gold standard formulations, the duo cultivates a majority of the ingredients on their own 80-acre farm called Sadhevana, in Tamil Nadu. Botanicals and herbs that can’t be grown in India are sourced from their place of origin. For example, the saffron petals in the Aloe Vera and Saffron Gel are handpicked in the valleys of Afghanistan. Similarly, the rose absolute in the Rose Water is specially called for from Bulgaria.

The feel-good, act good factor

Need another reason to invest in Sadhev’s well-formulated products? The brand has partnered with Grow-trees.com, a reforestation organisation that plants a tree for every purchase you make.
