As always, we’re ready to judge our favourite celebrities from the confines of our comfortable couches as the first Monday of May descends upon us. Fashion’s most glamorous event is here and everyone understood the assignment for the MET Gala 2024. This year, the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, ‘Sleeping Beauty: Reawakening Fashion’ was celebrated in all of its glory. The dress code for the evening was the ‘Garden of Time’ and let’s just say—everyone showed up and how. Silver eyes, wet hair and striking lips seemed to be the beauty theme for this year at the MET Gala.

Zendaya
Nobody shows up at the MET Gala better than Zendaya does. She experimented with the goth side of things this time around. With intense plum smokey eyes and ox-blood lips, this dark feminine aesthetic is everything. (You want to read till the end though, ’cause this isn’t even the full story).

I mean, does anyone do the MET Gala better than Natasha Poonawalla? We think not. Her maximalist makeup matched her maximalist outfit to the T. Always staying on top of beauty trends, Natasha decided to sport diffused red lips and an intense smokey eye that played around with silver and black.
Rita Ora
Rita Ora brought all of our mermaidcore fantasies to life with her wet look. Her metallic eyes and bleached brows were a powerful statement and the black cat eye added the perfect dash of intensity. Rita decided to give her bob a messy, wet look and let’s just say—mermaids look like that.
Greta Lee
Glass skin has stood the test of time and rightfully so. The shiny finish of Greta Lee’s skin paired with subdued pink cheeks and lips was every bit stunning. She styled her short bob with structured finish and that matched her showstopping outfit.
Doja Cat
Nobody does outlandish makeup better than Doja Cat. Showing off her signature buzz cut, she seemed to have hopped on the metallic eyes bandwagon. Doja chose dramatic silver eyes that were characterised by some intense kohl on the waterline. The steel grey tears added the correct amount of drama to her look.
Zendaya – part 2
One could expect the co-chair of the MET Gala to make a smashing second appearance. Zendaya took to the steps of the MET for the second time and showcased bleached brows with an entirely nude makeup look. A stark contrast from her first appearance, showing us that she can truly do anything.
Ariana Grande
While we’re all waiting for Ariana’s performance in Wicked, she decided to channel the Good Witch for her appearance at the MET Gala. She gave winged eyeliner a never-after twist by adding angel wings with fairy dust. Can we say, LOVE?
Keke Palmer
As much as we adore Keke Palmer’s classic baddie makeup, her hairstyle is what has our attention. She sported a sleek ponytail that towered above her crown majestically. We couldn’t miss the rhinestone bedazzled crown.
Sydney Sweeney
Sydney Sweeney shocked all of us with that stunning transformation. A daring movie from blonde to jet black, her hairstyle grabbed eyeballs. With extremely rosy cheeks and nude lips, she looked exactly like a princess.
