Michael Kors, the world-renowned, award-winning designer of luxury accessories and ready-to-wear, has launched a limited-edition product capsule designed exclusively for sale in India. The exquisite collection features a range of the brand’s classic handbags embellished with floral illustrations as well as sleek sunglasses and watches decorated with glittering gems.
To create a celebratory design, the American fashion house joined hands with architect and illustrator Aashti Miller. Born and raised in Mumbai before studying in New York, Miller tapped into her own personal experiences to create a custom illustration that adorns three of the brand’s most beloved silhouettes: the carryall Sullivan tote bag, the Jet Set Charm pouchette and the timeless Heather shoulder bag. Indian-inspired motifs such as lotuses, lanterns and elephants in tattoo-like, brightly-coloured renditions adorn the designs. The bags are numbered and limited to 1,000 units for each of the three styles.
“My designs for Michael Kors’ 2022 capsule are an amalgamation of nostalgic themes and modern forms,” says Miller. “It was interesting working outside of my usual creative process to create motifs that are simple yet detailed, while reflecting a little part of Indian culture. The motifs capture grandeur, vibrance, and vivacity in bright colours, earthy tones and intricate motifs that resonate with Indians everywhere,” added Miller, who studied architecture at Cornell University and is a Henry Adams AIA Medallist and a licensed architect in the US and India.
The three limited-edition bags are complemented by India-exclusive Michael Kors accessories in festive metallic tones: chic optical frames, sleek square-frame sunglasses and a rose gold-tone Parker watch, all perfect for glam holiday dressing.
The Parker rose gold-tone watch is ethereal in its beauty. The baby pink dial has three sub-dials, crystal hour markings and three luminous hands along with a date panel. Encased in a rose-gold stainless steel case with a crystal-embellished bezel, it is paired with a rose gold and blush acetate stainless steel three-link bracelet, secured with a deployant clasp.
The limited-edition India-exclusive capsule will be available online and in-store at all Michael Kors Lifestyle stores in India as well as on the multi-brand e-commerce platforms Ajio Luxe and Tata Cliq.
