Patrons of the plant-forward and seasonal restaurant are in for a scrumptious treat. Chef Vanika Choudhury retains the classics such as burgers and salads and blends them with her food philosophy and personal journey of being a mother and evolving chef. From signature salad bowls, burgers and tacos, to Amboli, jackfruit kebabs, finger millet dosas, and kimchi soup, Sequel’s new menu offers healthy and tasty dishes that highlight local produce and native Indian grains. For instance, the finger millet dosas are made with karun ragi, sourced from farmers in Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri district. The result is a dosa that is nutty and deeply complex in flavour, it is paired with ghee, two moreish chutneys, a curry leaf podi, and charred mushrooms.

6. Hakka Sunday Brunch with Suntory Whisky Toki & Roku at Hakkasan (BKC, Mumbai)
Hakkasan’s Hakka Sunday Brunch gets a Japanese twist–Suntory Whisky Toki and Roku gin cocktails are paired with the restaurant’s fine Cantonese creations. 13. Ekaa (Fort, Mumbai)
Reinventing the way we eat, Ekaa is back with a new ingredient-forward menu. The recently launched 10-course meal borrows inspiration from the summer and monsoon season. Chef Niyati Rao envisions highlighting the relationship that each individual has with this season, which trickles down to quintessential food memories while being largely influenced by the ecosystems they reside in. For instance, one of the dishes is a spin on the Indian roasted corn or “butta,” which makes us recollect the times we have enjoyed the popular street snack on cold, rainy days. Some of the other ingredients featured on the menu are Indian Himalayan rainbow trout, fermented bamboo shoots, Axone (fermented soybeans from Nagaland), Myrobalan plum, or cherry plums, and Mangosteens from Kerala. What you can expect is beautifully-presented dishes full of creativity and flavour in an elegant ambiance, enjoyed over delectable cocktails and engaging conversations provoked by the nostalgic food.
