The Crown Season 5

After a two-year hiatus, the much-awaited fictional series on the British Royal Family is set to arrive. Featuring an entirely new cast, The Crown Season 5 sees Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, and Dominic West as Prince Charles. The plot? It’s a new decade, and the royal family is facing what may be their biggest challenge yet–proving their continued relevance in ‘90s Britain. Diana and Charles, who are in an unhappy marriage take their fate into their own hands, even if it causes collateral damage to the British monarchy–what you’ll see is a media war between the duo which only widens the cracks in the royal foundation.

2. My Policeman

Harry Styles has been on a roll with not only his music but also his acting career. His latest film, My Policeman now gets an OTT release. The films follows policeman Tom (Harry) falling in love with a schoolteacher (Emma Corrin) on the Brighton coast in 1950s Britain. However, he soon begins a passionate same-sex affair with a museum curator, in spite of homosexuality being illegal. What you’ll witness is an emotional story of forbidden love and changing social conventions through this love triangle.

3. Causeway

While Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a common subject filmmakers explore, especially when portraying the horrors of war, not many delve deep into the physical ailments that soldiers encounter. That’s where Causeway fills the gap. The multi-faceted actor Jennifer Lawrence is the lead star of this trauma drama. She plays Lynsey, a U.S. soldier who experiences a traumatic brain injury during a war in Afghanistan which forces her to return home. She struggles to return to her daily life with her mother as she waits for her eventual redeployment, which she still finds normal despite experiencing a traumatic turn of events.

4. Enola Holmes 2

Sister of detective Sherlock Holmes, Enola Holmes was introduced to the world through her Netflix film in 2020. She’s unlike all the feminine ladies of that time and finds herself interested in solving mysteries just like her brother. While the first film saw her trying to find her missing mother, the second movie will explore her deduction skills and focus on her becoming a mainstream detective. She sets up her own agency only to find that life as a female detective-for-hire isn’t as easy as it seems. She is about to close shop when a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job: to find her missing sister. But this case proves to be far more puzzling than expected, forcing her to call upon the help of her friends including Sherlock himself.

5. Monica O My Darling

Starring Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte and Huma Qureshi, the dark comedy follows the story of a slick robotics expert who joins a murderous plot after a passionate affair takes a sudden turn. But nothing—not even death—is what it seems to be.

Looking for a light-hearted entertaining watch this weekend? 9. Breathe: Into The Shadows Season 2

In the first season of the thriller series, Avinash Sabharwal (Abhishek Bachchan) finds his six-year-old daughter kidnapped by a Masked Man. The only way to save her is if Avinash and his wife agree to kill multiple people, which they do. But the plot twists when it is found that the Masked Man (who goes by the name of J) is Avinash himself as a result of a split-personality disorder. In Season two, J’s existence and ideology re-emerge as he sets out to finish what he started, leading Avinash to confront his merging dual identity. But this time around, he has a new partner-in-crime, Victor. How will things end up for Avinash and J? You’ll have to watch and find out.

10. Brahmastra Part One: Shiva

In case you missed watching the much-anticipated film in theatres, you can now watch it from the comfort of your home. The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer is now streaming on OTT. 11. Save our Squad with David Beckham Season 1
