Here’s Why Your Oily Skin Routine Needs A Powder Face Wash

Trust a girl with oily skin to give you the best skincare advice! We spend our teenage years stripping our faces with harsh cleansers. We skip the moisturiser thinking that it will help avoid greasiness and never consider upgrading our cleansing routine to rectify the issue. This is why as adults we’re on a skin repair journey and finally understand how to hack an oily skin routine to stay clear and blemish-free. Truth be told, there’s no big secret to dealing with oily or combination skin. You must be consistent with your routine and use the right products that offer sebum regulation instead of sebum clearing. Yes, your skin’s natural oils will do you good, and it is essential to keep them safe against overly drying cleansers. Fortunately, I got obsessed with skincare early on to understand what kind of routine it takes to keep my skin healthy. And one product that I’ve personally felt works wonders for oily skin is the powder face wash.

Powder-based cleansers and exfoliators are formulated to get rid of added oils and are full of active natural hydrators to effectively cleanse your skin without over-drying it. An ideal second step in double cleansing, powder cleansers effectively remove any traces of makeup or cleansing balms/oils left behind. These have been universally loved, from Korean and Japanese beauty markets to Ayurvedic formulas like neem and tulsi powders being a staple in our mother’s and grandmother’s routines. With an added exfoliation action, they almost work as a daily polish for your skin. And squeaky clean is a prerequisite for keeping your skin gunk and acne-free. In my skincare journey, I have come across a few pretty good powder face washes; check them out here –
