Rajesh Pratap Singh’s Latest Collection Is Dedicated To Polo, Rajasthan And A Life With Horses

Rajesh Pratap Singh is a well-known figure in the fashion industry owing to his sleek, modern silhouettes that flawlessly combine tradition and modern design. The designer began his career at NIFT in Delhi and then traveled to Tuscany, Italy, to receive menswear instruction. His passion for Indian textiles inspired him to launch his own label while still in school.


When the designer debuted his collection at Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week (WIFW) in 2006, his understated aesthetic quickly gained popularity, and the following year WIFW debuted a Rajesh Pratap Singh line. His creations quickly gained recognition on a global scale, and in 2008 he was chosen to participate in Paris Fashion Week, where he experimented with cotton and organza to produce an amazing collection. ELLE had a chat with Rajesh Pratap Singh on his vision for his collection at the Lakmē Fashion Week.

ELLE: What was your vision while creating your collection for the fashion week?

Rajesh Pratap Singh (RPS): Polo, Argentina, Rajasthan and a life with horses.
