There’s something about celebrity pregnancy announcements. One, I am filled with indignation that they didn’t tell us sooner. We need to be filled in. Now, if they call me to the baby shower, I am not going to be generous. Just saying. But what’s also fascinating is the way they make the revelation. They really know how to catch us offguard. Here are all the celebrity pregnancy announcements that were…unexpected. Oh we know that the rumour mills have been in a overdrive, but they have been speculating about Rihanna’s pregnancy since 2018, and there has been no baby, so it’s safe to say they were wrong.
1. Rihanna
The most recent celebrity pregnancy announcement is Bad Gal Riri aka Rihanna! The pop singer and business mogul was papped with A$AP Rocky on the streets of NYC. Rihanna had her pink puffer jacket unbuttoned from below to reveal her baby bump! Now we know that a baby bump takes time to show up, so we know that baby Riri is going to be here soon.
However, fans had speculated that she was pregnant months before her announcement. But because she is Riri, the star used a trend called jellyfishing and employed other clothing tricks to hide it. She gave nothing away!

2. Kylie Jenner
For her first pregnancy, Kylie kept the news under wraps and made the announcement only after the baby (Stormi) was born. For baby number 2, Kylie shared the news via a beautiful video on her Instagram. But fans were glued to her socials, paying close attention to…wait…her manicures to find out about her pregnancy long before her official announcement–they believed Kylie was hiding her pregnancy by posting old photos of herself that were explained by her changing nail colours.
3. Beyonce
One of the most memorable pregnancy announcements is hands down that of Beyonce’s. The singer dropped the news herself on-stage while performing ‘Love On Top’ at the MTV Video Music Awards 2011. She told the crowd, “I want you to feel the love growing inside of me,” and ended the performance by unbuttoning her sequin jacket and rubbing her almost there baby bump to make the revelation.
4. Priyanka Chopra Jonas
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have welcomed a baby together via surrogacy, and they announced this with an instagram post. In case you watched The Jonas Brothers Family Roast, PeeCee had dropped a hint saying “they’re expecting” and took a brief pause (Nick’s perplexed expression was priceless) but quickly turned it into a joke and continued her sentence with, “we’re expecting to get drunk tonight.” But in hindsight, we now know for sure she wasn’t joking.

The Hollywood star’s rep had first confirmed her pregnancy with husband Cooke Maroney via People magazine. Later, Jennifer Lawrence made very rare appearances showing off her baby bump. However, the first major public and red carpet appearance was for the premiere of her film Don’t Look Up. A very cute Jennifer Lawrence walked the red carpet flaunting her bump in a beautiful golden Dior dress.

The Bollywood actress and her husband Angad Bedi surprised fans with an adorable family photo on Instagram featuring their daughter Mehr and Angad’s palm placed on Neha’s baby bump. “Took us 2 days to come with a caption….The best one we could think of was…Thank you, God,” read Neha’s Instagram caption.

Before the supermodel revealed her pregnancy photoshoot on Instagram, her mother Yolanda had confirmed reports on Gigi and Zayn expecting a baby, saying she’s excited to become an Oma. Later, Gigi personally confirmed the news during a remote interview with Jimmy Fallon on his show.
