Sara Ali Khan’s Instagram goofiness has been firmly entrenched in our minds but it’s her desi girl looks that keeps most of us coming back. Not afraid of experimenting, her Indian outfits feature interesting silhouettes, whimsical elements and so much more, a fitting ode to the quirky person she is. From Kedarnath to Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, her on screen looks have been one for the pinterest boards for sure, but its her off screen sartorial choices that have us taking notes.
Her wardrobe is filled with beautiful saris to anarkalis, she wears a variety of traditional outfits, each time piquing our interest. Here our some of her recent styling experimentations we’ve loved and ones that serve as the perfect inspiration for the next festive season.
Pretty in Pink
Sara donned this elegant Anjul Bhandari powder-pink asymmetrical jacket with bustier and pants crafted with jaalidar chikankari. She paired it with matching pink juttis and dainty diamonds to finish her look. Her pants and cape set gives us the perfect excuse to ditch the lehenga and put on some pants.
Red Regalia
Sara Ali Khan dazzled in red for IIFA earlier this year with her costar Vicky Kaushal. While Kaushal slayed a classic tuxedo, Sara went retro. Her sartorial style consisted of a red ruffled saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The ruched waistline and red sequin blouse was siren red, you know…just another day for Sara.
Monochrome Enswathe
For her Cannes debut, Sara Ali Khan wore an Abu Jain Sandeep Khosla creation. What would otherwise have been just another saree moment was elevated thanks to the expert draping. She paired the sari with an embellished black and white halter blouse and finished off with black and white layered pearl necklace.
Golden Gleam
For the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Sara Ali Khan stepped out in a glamorous custom Manish Malhotra creation. There’s a way to do OTT right and Sara absolutely nailed it in this gold and black heavily embroidered number. We are stealing this look for the next wedding.
Ivory Allure
For her outing in Doha, Sara stepped out in an ivory sharara set by Manish Malhotra. The flared pants and sheer cape with kashmiri patchwork added drama to the otherwise fitted ensemble.
Traditional Barbie
In this look she posted on her Instagram, Sara dazzled in the Punit Balana handcrafted gulaal ghagra with marodi, dabka and pearls on it. The asymmetrical cowl blouse showed off her décolletage, the traditional polki choker providing the perfect amount of dazzle.
Purple Power
Not one to shy away from heavy sets, Sara wore this deep purple velvet pant and top set that had heads turning. She added a diamond tennis bracelet, keeping the look minimalistic and drawing the eye to the outfit.
