Step Into A Modern-Day Palace At Raffles Jaipur, Where Elegance Meets History

When I first heard about the opening of Raffles Jaipur, I knew I had to experience it for myself. The brand’s reputation for gracious service, elegance, and glamour precedes it, and the idea of a majestic retreat in the heart of the vibrant Pink City was irresistible. So, I packed my bags and set off to immerse myself in what promised to be a regal adventure.

As soon as I arrived at Raffles Jaipur, I was struck by the grandeur of the place. Nestled amidst the ancient Aravalli Hills, the hotel stands as a modern-day palace, a reimagined retreat that pays homage to the regal art of living. The intricate craftsmanship was immediately apparent; every corner of the hotel seemed to tell a story, blending Mughal and Rajputana architectural traditions in a symphony of elegance.

The hotel’s 50 guestrooms and suites are masterpieces in their own right. My room was a sanctuary of luxury, with a balcony that featured a plunge pool, perfect for unwinding while taking in the stunning views. The decor was a blend of modern elegance and timeless sophistication, with painted corniced ceilings, golden murals, and furniture featuring camel bone inlay. It felt like stepping into a royal residence.

One of the highlights of my stay was the unique coffee experience. Raffles Jaipur features Modbar units, a rarity in India, offering the finest coffee on tap. The precision and artistry of these brews were unmatched. The hotel’s Writers Bar was another gem, where I savoured a Jaipur Sling, a local take on the famed Singapore Sling, crafted with freshly ground spices and herbs from the hotel’s garden.

Dining at Raffles Jaipur was an adventure in itself. At Arkaa, the hotel’s speciality restaurant, I indulged in dishes inspired by the Zenana, or women’s quarters of the Mughal court. The plant-based culinary tradition was celebrated with local ingredients sourced from nearby micro-farms, creating flavours that were both familiar and novel. The traditional evening tea at Safir was another delight, offering a journey through diverse flavours with each original creation.

The hotel’s spa was a haven of tranquillity, featuring indulgent treatment rooms and mineral pools. These unique experiences, rooted in Rajasthani culture, added a layer of depth to my stay, making it more than just a luxurious escape.

Exploring the hotel, I was continuously enchanted by the opulent Mughal furnishings, patterned marble floors, and the signature scent of neroli, orange blossom, and saffron that filled the air. Each space, from the grand hall to the light-filled atrium was designed to evoke memories of royal expeditions and the rich heritage of Rajasthan. Raffles Jaipur also excels as a culinary destination, with its rooftop bar Sehara offering Mediterranean-inspired dishes and stunning views of the Aravalli Hills.

The serene spa, state-of-the-art fitness studio, and rooftop pool provided ample opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Raffles Jaipur is a gateway to the regal past of Rajasthan, offering a perfect blend of luxury, culture, and impeccable service. I left with a sense of enchantment, already planning my next visit to this splendid retreat.
