The Best Of Beauty From The FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week 2021

FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week 2021

The FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive 2021 fashion presentation has officially wrapped up! After a couple of seasons of digital shows, the in-person and digital hybrid fashion week presented the best of Indian fashion. Most designers decided to go for a season-less and fluid collection, which meant they could play around with the beauty briefs as much as they wished to. And played around they did! From embellishments to stunning graphic eyes that were deliciously OTT, here are our favourite beauty moments from the week-long fashion fiesta.

FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week 2021
Arpita Mehta
Makeup embellishments are having a major moment right now! Arpita Mehta's collection featured rich organzas and lush fabrics; an aesthetic that needed a little drama on the eyes to beautify it further!
Aisha Rao
The collection—both traditional and of the moment—featured the designer's signature appliqué work created with contrasting foliage. Aptly titled 'Paper Dolls', beautiful details like blushed high cheekbones and soft, flicked liners perfectly matched the celestial themes.

Limerick
Limerick's collection paired sheers and solids together in perfect unison. The riot of colours and prints was perfectly played off by heavy silver metallic eyes. The see-through beanie was a fun accessory spotted on the runway as well.
Naushad Ali
Naushad Ali's collection of easy, relaxed, season-less and comfort-oriented silhouettes were brimming with nostalgia. The unkempt ribbon braids were especially fun, reminiscent of a wild yet memorable childhood from the 90s!
JJ Valaya
To match the lavish embroidery of his collection, JJ Valaya upped the ante on traditional bridal makeup. Dewy skin paired with shimmery eyes and embellishments on the brows kept the regal feel of the garments intact.

Gaurav Gupta
Gaurav Gupta's finale collection was created with repurposed ocean waste. The theme of the show was paired with a wet illusion beauty look to really get the message of ocean conservation out there.

Nidhi Yasha
An edgy fashion presentation, by all means, Nidhi Yasha's beauty brief featured metallic eyes, browns and complexion. The boldness of the collection was further elevated with structured hair laden with sharp accessories.

The Pot Plant
One of the major themes of the FDCI x Pearl Academy emerging talent designers Resham Karmchandani and Sanya Suri's collection was gender fluidity. The androgynous looks were elevated with berry washed, draped shadows, unfiltered skin and faux freehand tattooing on the neck.
Gaurang
Gaurang's Jamdani sarees called for a very intricate beauty detail - a crescent moon abstract bindi to match its namesake collection 'Chaand'. The floral accents paired with the undone fishtail braid is a hair trend we can expect for the upcoming wedding season.

Nirmooha
Nirmooha's collection focused on abstract pastel hand embroidery with holographic sequins work. The playful patterns were paired with gorgeous natural curls and deep blush cheeks.
Pankaj and Nidhi
Turquoise and crimson shadows were used to create the piercing gaze of Pankaj and Nidhi’s lively free-spirited colourful collection. The nude lips and sheer coverage keeps the look feeling fresh throughout.
Mohammed Mazhar
Mohammed Mazhar's monochrome black and white collection was masterfully elevated with choppy wigs and a graphic eye. The asymmetrical bob is characterful, and the natural braids peeking from underneath is a touch of quirky genius.

Megha Jain Madaan
Inspired by the wonderful designs of ancient Greek pottery that revolved around geometrical and floral motifs, Megha's luxurious garments were paired with gold foil accents on the hair.
