From Aşk Laftan Anlamaz To Erkenci Kuş, Here Are Turkish Shows To Watch According To Your Zodiac Sign

Turkish Shows

There’s an inexplicable pull to the theatrics of dramatic content, which manages to monetise even a slap repeated thrice. Now, with the introduction of Netflix, Prime Video and other OTT platforms, our viewing habits have shifted. However, the desire to return to your roots of ‘I don’t need to use my brains to understand it’ material remains steadfast.

But we’ve discovered a cure: Turkish shows. A great alternative to otherwise regressive Indian soaps. And the fact that they, too, overdose on tea and apply henna before the wedding and give us a happily ever after makes it more culturally relevant to understand. Keep reading for a download of Turkish shows you must watch, as per you zodiac. For the extra spice, you know.

Aries (March 21-April 19): Maraşlı

Marasli is a retired soldier who now owns a bookstore. But there’s more to it. Doused in mystery and action, this thriller is a must-watch for the rams of the zodiac. Also, Burak Deniz is a delight.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): Hercai

This one’s a little intense. Reyyan and Miran’s relationship begins as a vengeful outcome of animosity between two powerful families, but they eventually fall in love. I’m a Taurean and it became my comfort show because of the wondrous display of their cultures, stone houses and the food. God, the shorbas were mesmerising.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): Aşk Laftan Anlamaz

Turkish shows

Easily one of the most popular Turkish shows to have ever existed, this romance-drama would entice the Gemini lot because of the witty storytelling and a million twists. And everyone’s just weirdly hot, like every single frame exposes you to god’s finest creations and you can’t help but google cheapest flights to Turkey after binge-watching the show.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): Sen Çal Kapımı

Something for the die hard romantics. Sen Çal Kapımı has all the making of a wholistic drama, it’s funny, tragic and gripping at the same time. Hande Erçel does a fab job and her fashion roster is impeccably curated. Cancerians will love this.

Leo (July 23-August 22): Dirilis: Ertugrul

A show fit for the kings of the zodiac. This iconic Turkish show delves into the historical ascent of the Ottoman empire and will easily fit the watchlist of all self-respecting Leos.

Virgo (August 23-September 22): Siyah Beyaz Aşk

Mafia girlies, mark your attendance. If the bad boy trope fits your vibe (accept it, there’s no judgement here), this one should be on your list of must-watch turkish shows.

Libra (September 23-October 22): Erkenci Kuş

Turkish shows

Can Divit, a renowned photographer, returns to Istanbul to save his family’s advertising agency from disaster. The only person he trusts is Sanem, a young aspiring writer. She is sceptical of his honesty at first, but she quickly falls for him. Librans trust me, you’ll love this one.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21): Kara Sevda

Having won ample international accolades, Kara Sevda is one of the mostly globally recognised Turkish shows. I bet your mom/ aunt knows about it too. The intensity will surely entice all the Scorpions without a doubt. A little on the dramatic side, but worth a watch.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21): Terzi (The Tailor)

A psychological thriller for the immensely cerebral Sagis. The story revolves around Peyami Dokumacı, a well-known tailor who inherited his grandfather’s renowned business. With his grandfather’s death, Peyami brings his father Mustafa, his biggest secret and a child-like intelligence, to the centre of his life in Istanbul, where he must now care for him without anyone knowing the truth. Truth, lies, and a whole lot of manipulation await you.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19): Dolunay

Turkish shows

Ferit Aslan, a highly structured businessman, employs Nazli, a gastronomy student, to assist in his kitchen. Things take an unexpected turn when they learn they are diametrically opposed. Enemies to lovers turkish shows for the win.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18): Kus Uçusu

Netflix sums it up as ‘a young fan finding her way into a seasoned anchor’s newsroom but soon confronting the dark side of ambition, envy and desire.’ Not an Aquarian, but sign me up because this sounds promising. All my Aquarian friends love a good dosage of smartly written scripts and this one ticks all boxes.

Pisces (February 19-March 20): Ateşböceği

Pisceans are hopeless romantics and Ateşböceği is right up their alley. Chronicling a beautiful yet somewhat tragic love affair in a workplace setting, this show is ideal for the dreamers of the zodiac.
