If over a year ago you’d told me that my closest compadre in 2021 would be a bottle of disinfectant spray and a mask, I would’ve scoffed with laughter. But the past year has definitely been unprecedented, to say the least – and it’s been a learning experience for all of us. As we learn to adapt to the new normal, we’re all looking for anchors to guide us through these testing times – especially our masks, our loved ones, our sanitizers, and our disinfectant sprays. And the one disinfectant spray we’ve come to rely heavily on is by Savlon.
And hey, if you don’t want to take our word for it, let interior designer Gauri Khan be your inspiration for using Savlon disinfectant sprays. In a conversation with ELLE, she let us in on the impact of 2020 on her professional life and how she’s been keeping her space safe during these unprecedented times.

“As a designer, I would have to say that health and hygiene have become very important to me,” she shares. “During the lockdown, I realised while the floors were being cleaned frequently, other, frequently used soft-furnishings, such as sofas, pillows, and upholsteries were totally being ignored.”
This is a very real problem indeed; there are certain surfaces you don’t even realise the need to be cleaned frequently to avoid the spread of disease. When asked how she deals with situations like this, Gauri explained, “What’s great is that the Savlon disinfectant spray ensures our safety against germs and viruses! Simply spraying it on the sofa and cushions ensures that I don’t have to worry about germs, and the fresh smell it leaves behind is just the icing on the cake. The focus is to remove visible dirt, and disinfect neglected objects around us.”
And we couldn’t agree more! Whether it’s our mattresses, curtains, sofas, or any surface in our homes that isn’t cleaned daily – we’re putting ourselves and our families at greater risk by letting the surfaces be. That’s why we’re taking charge and using the Savlon Disinfectant Spray to ensure our safety and security. It’s for our own good.
