I can’t quite put my finger on it but something about Formula 1 (F1) that is so appealing. Perhaps it’s the notion of a skilled sportsman, or it’s the element of a person of adrenaline, or perhaps it’s just the simple helmet coming off and ruffle of hair of a racer that gets the audience swooning. The list is fairly endless, and looking at last week’s chaos caused by Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton in the F1 fandom, it’s undeniable – the hold this sport has on people. Since the past few years, there has been a sudden rise in the F1 community, especially among the Gen Z female crowd. And just like every other sport, this car race has entered the bookstagram quite swiftly.
Thanks to the popularity of drivers like Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, or George Russell on Pinterest and Tumblr pages, as well as multiple podcasts that discuss the politics and mechanics of driving, the new generation is developing a renewed interest in motorsports. If you keep up with Bookstagram, there’s a sudden gearing of authors coming up with endearing F1 romances with just the right amount of slow burn and pining.
These books have everything a F1 and romance enthusiasts enjoys, from tropes like fake dating, forbidden romances, second chances, or everyone’s favourite enemies to lovers. Although the feeling of excitement one gets from reading these books may not be comparable to that of watching the race live, these books do a great job of introducing you to these really attractive fictitious characters.
So if you’re a fan of thrilling F1 races and a romance book hoarder add these new books to your TBR list:
