Strong storylines, sparkling chemistry, great comic timing, and a stellar cast are the main factors that keep a K-drama lover hooked to the show. Numerous emotions build up while watching the storyline move, but there is nothing worse than having a second lead syndrome, where the person you were rooting for the entire show doesn’t get their happily ever after. However, what they do get is the proper amount of screen time. This syndrome might look smaller to you if your heart is always swooned by the second lead couple. In case you aren’t familiar with the term ‘second lead couple’ in K-dramas, it’s the second lead character you see in most romantic Korean dramas, whose existence is still essential to the plot but the world does not revolve around them.
They are often written as a subplot and sometimes surpass the chemistry of the main leads in the show. If you’ve gone through this, you know how heartbroken and disappointed you are when they don’t get enough screen time, and you are left with pieces of them that aren’t enough. An avid fan of K-dramas is familiar with the Goblin series’ characters, Sunny and the Grim Reaper, who had a strong hold on their audience even after being the second lead couple. To describe this second lead’s chemistry would be an understatement; they just clicked perfectly for the viewers. With the love of the fans and internet campaigns, these two actors appeared together in another K-drama called Touch Your Heart.
So, here we’ve compiled a list of six K-dramas with second lead couples who have incredible chemistry and need to star in their own show asap:
