They’ve gone from the runway to your favourite celebrities’ wardrobes – and we’re seeing a LOT of these labels right now. Swot up!
Georges Chakra
For the uninitiated, Lebanese designer Georges Chakra has been presenting his collections at Paris Fashion Week since 2002. He’s dressed some of the biggest names in Hollywood – Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé and Anna Kendrick to name a few. Also, Chakra’s couture creations were featured in The Devil Wears Prada (even Miranda Priestly approved). Closer home, we’ve spotted Shraddha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra and Kriti Sanon in his work.
ISSA London
London-based Daniella Helayel established the label in 2006 and even showed at London Fashion Week that year. Shortly after, in 2011, Helayel left the label, which was then taken over by Camilla Al-Fayed (the daughter of former Harrod’s owner Mohammed Al-Fayed). The label shot to fame in 2008 when the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, chose to wear ISSA to a charity ball where her engagement to Prince William was announced.
Andrew Gn
We’ve been seeing a lot of Andrew Gn lately, on everyone from Kareena Kapoor Khan to Kriti Sanon. The Singapore born, Paris-based designer launched his label back in 1996, after a short stint as assistant to Monsieur Emanuel Ungaro. He’s an alumnus of the prestigious Central Saint Martins, London. And his designs combine modern silhouettes with traditional details.
VS Pink
It’s an extension of the famous lingerie label Victoria’s Secret, and home to all things cool (and super comfy!). VS Pink stocks loads of casual tees, track suits and accessories. Recently we’ve spotted Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonakshi Sinha sporting the label.
