ELLE: What does beauty mean to you personally?
Debasree Banerjee (DB): It’s therapeutic for me. It’s also being comfortable in your own skin and using products, whether it’s skincare or makeup, to glorify the existing features and your skin rather than trying to cover it.
ELLE: A beauty advice you would give to your 16-year-old self?
DB: Just keep going. You’re doing great.
ELLE: One makeup product you cannot live without?
DB: Mascara, always.
ELLE: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of beauty?
DB: Does launching your own brand count?!
