The aftershocks of Sridevi’s sudden demise can still be felt in the country that loved her, but while nothing can erase the tragedy of her untimely death, it’s heartening to see the ever-united Kapoor family rallying to support Boney Kapoor and his young daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Jhanvi brought in her birthday on March 6 surrounded by her family, including cousins Sonam and Rhea Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter, Shanaya.

An interesting addition to this happy family photo was Anshula Kapoor, sister of Arjun Kapoor and daughter of Boney Kapoor and his first wife, Mona, who hosted the birthday party at her house. Those of a certain vintage will remember that Boney’s subsequent marriage to Sridevi caused a huge rift in the family, with the half-siblings never being seen at family events at the same time. In an interview given in May 2017 to Business of Cinema , Arjun spoke candidly of the absence of a relationship with his sisters: “We don’t really meet and spend time together so it doesn’t really exist.”
Sad as it is that it took a tragedy to bring the family together, Sridevi’s passing has erased past tensions, with Janhvi and Khushi making multiple visits to Arjun’s house to hang out with him and Anshula.

In memory of the kind, effervescent spirit that was Sridevi, the Kapoors seem more united than ever, setting a wonderful example for how families must unite to support each other when times get tough.
The most moving example was their recent joint appearance at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding festivities, where the whole family posed together, with Boney Kapoor.
