Like most of young Bollywood at the moment, Janhvi Kapoor has a yen for Indian ethnicwear. In an effort to play close to her onscreen character in Dhadak (her debut movie produced by Karan Johar and co-starring Ishaan Khattar, Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother), the stylish young star is often seen in effortless salwar-kameezes, or colourful anarkalis.
For her most recent outing on the promotional trail, Janhvi and her stylist Tanya Ghavri chose a floor-length embroidered dress from designer Sukriti and Aakriti, paired with a sheer dupatta bordered with colourful tassles. The figure-hugging bodice accentuates the actress’s petite frame, while the free-flowing skirt gives her an excuse for multiple Instagram boomerangs, which is never a bad thing.
To balance out the busy outfit, Ghavri kept the accessories to a minimum, allowing only for a statement ring and shoulder-dusting earrings.
The whole look is perfect for girls who love Indian sensibilities but don’t want to limit themselves to the traditional salwar-kurta or sari. Throw in a pair of Kolhapuri wedges and you’re ready for your BFF’s destination wedding in Bali.

When in doubt, go with the look that will never fail you.
