As Sara Ali Khan readies herself for her debut film Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput — and a sophomore effort in Simmba with Ranveer Singh — the young actor has already been signed on for another film where she will be teaming up with her father, Saif Ali Khan. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the yet-to-be titled film will be based on the poignant relationship of a father and a daughter. How apt is that?

“Yes. It is true that I am doing a film with Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan, but it is too early to say more than that. I narrated the story to both and they have seemed to like it. We are now working on their dates,” the director was quoted as saying. Saif confirmed, saying, “Nitin and I have been in talks for a film, but it’s in the early stages. We haven’t finalised it yet. The script is good.”
While Saif was last seen in Sacred Games, Netflix’s first original series from India, Sara is looking at a december 26 release for Simmba.
Seeing actors related by blood sharing space onscreen is always refreshing. Think: Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Pankaj Kapur and Shahid Kapoor, and the most recent example, Alia Bhatt and Soni Razdan, who teamed up in a mother-daughter role for Raazi.
