I’m just a fashion girlie sobbing because I had to throw away my favourite flats on account of sudden rains. The monsoon season just happens to be one of my favourite seasons but when it hinders my outfit choices, I’m suddenly not as forgiving as I’d like to be. There are so many rules about what you can and can’t wear during the rain which leaves little room for choosing to be stylish.
According to me, the most affected part of each outfit put together during the rains is your shoes. Often unnoticed, shoes take a backseat because who wants to ruin their favourite pairs in pouring water? You can’t wear sling-back heels, leather shoes or even a lovely pair of vintage boots, that too for four months each year. The tragedy!
This coming monsoon, I’m setting out to change the notion that your shoes can’t be stylish during the rains. So, I’ve found these 6 gorgeous pairs that you can match with your rain-appropriate outfits and not have to worry about ruining your prized possessions.
1. Red Rain Boots
Rihanna stepped out in these glossy knee-high Hunter rain boots and I don’t know about you but I’m definitely taking notes.
2. High-Street Rain Boots
These comfortable ankle-length boots come in various colours and finishes which gives you multiple options to experiment with.
3. Ganni City Boots
Bella may have retired from modelling but being stylish seems to be in her blood. She wore these city boots from Ganni effortlessly and even pulled off a biker-girl aesthetic with them.
4. Classic Clogs
Being a recently converted crocs girl, I must say, practicality during rains is unbeatable with a pair of crocs and with these brown clogs, you can be stylish too.
5. Trooped Rubber Boots
Rains or no rains, these Balenciaga rubber boots are my dream boots. I can wear them all year long with a multitude of outfits. They would be the perfect addition to any closet.
6. Puddle Ankle Boots
These Bottega Venetas not only come in multiple colour options, but they’re also 100% biodegradable and water resistant. These would be the perfect addition to your closet if you’re someone who loves bold colours and playing with prints.
