This June as various designers gear up for Haute Couture Week in Paris, at the heart of June’s biggest fashion moments, Tamara Ralph is all set to capture the fashion world with her latest collection. Known for her dedication to craftsmanship and luxurious details, Ralph’s Autumn/Winter 2024-2025 collection is an ode to the enchanting city of Paris, embodying the romantic allure that the city is renowned for. “It is enchanting, but with an edge,” Ralph remarked in a candid conversation with ELLE.
Parisian Inspiration: A Love Affair
“The collection is inspired by the magical, unmatched city of Paris – and the enduring notion of French elegance – and, specifically, the love stories intertwined with the city’s timeless charm,” Ralph shared. This homage to Paris is evident in every piece, each garment telling a story of romance and sophistication through meticulously chosen fabrics, intricate embellishments, and a harmonious colour palette.
A Dance of Colours
In portraying hidden passion and enchantment, Ralph masterfully plays with colour. “This collection sees the combination of dark and light in terms of colour; midnight hues are met with rich tones of ruby red and pale pinks, for example,” she said. These contrasting hues, though on opposite sides of the spectrum, seamlessly blend to evoke feelings of romance, passion, and enchantment, highlighting the collection’s sophisticated allure.

Ralph’s dedication to detail is a hallmark of her design philosophy. “The use of such fine materials and embellishments as lace, pearls and crystals demands precision, careful attention as well as a strong vision to ensure the result is balanced; romantic yet not overly feminine, soft yet uncompromising,” she noted. “Orchids are, by definition, symbolic of both eternal beauty and devotion given their longevity, their uniqueness and their uncompromising elegance,” Ralph explained. These floral motifs found on select pieces are a treat for any floral lover.

Creating such a detailed collection was not without its challenges. Ralph, who was due to deliver her second baby just before the show, had to organise her team and work well in advance. Despite these challenges, she found immense joy in pushing creative boundaries and exploring new design possibilities. “Being able to do this – to really play, manipulate and innovate – is the ultimate highlight,” she shared.

As the collection makes its debut at Paris Haute Couture Week, Ralph hopes to inspire and enchant her audience. “With Haute Couture symbolising the highest echelon of luxury and exceptional craftsmanship, it stands alone and almost vibrates with a magical kind of energy. I hope that my guests – and those who engage from afar – feel inspired and, ultimately, enchanted by my new collection,” she concluded.
