From the neon green profile pictures to everyone on the internet recreating Charli XCX’s ‘Apple’ dance, the BRAT album has undoubtedly revolutionised the way we look at club music and safe, to conclude, is the party album of the decade. Apple Music also called it a “record that brings to life the pleasure of colourful, sticky dance floors and too-sweet alcopops lingering in the back of your mouth,” which weirdly makes sense to me, as I’ve blasted her hit ‘365’ repeatedly, much to the dismay of my neighbours.
Apart from riding the musical high these days, Charli XCX has always been a fashion girl at heart, with multiple A-list brands vying to dress her for events. Marni’s a clear standout, with ample Gaultier and Balenciaga sightings . And nope, it’s not all green bodysuits and neon tights–she possesses a penchant for experimenting with disruptive style and,thus, boasts of a sartorial roster replete with looks that look like they were taken fresh off a runway.

All Eyes On Her
The Apple singer donned a sparkly Balenciaga dress and cyborg-influenced oversized sunglasses when out and about for media engagements. Her wet-hair look surely added depth to the whole ‘stay away from me’ vibe she was clearly going for.
Black Renaissance
Very demure, very mindful! For Saint Laurent’s pre-Oscars party, Charli XCX donned a statement YSL black leather jacket over a sheer, tightly fitted maxi skirt, which is a classic marker of the sultry maison.

One can never go wrong with Gaultier! The ‘365’ singer dived into the Maison’s Spring/Summer 2024 lookbooks from their haute couture lineup and opted for this maximalist dream of a dress for the 2023 Fashion Awards. Surprisingly, the sheer black tights and sleeves complement the ensemble quite well. Or maybe it’s just her.
Out And About
Mom jeans, a cropped biker jacket, and a tiny handheld bucket bag– Charli XCX loves a good dose of rebellious outfits in her armoire, and this look is proof enough. Easy to replicate and supremely functional, I intend to recreate this one for sure!
