Celebrate Oktoberfest in Mumbai

As much as we would love to head to Germany for the fortnight-long Oktoberfest celebrations, life and responsibilities come in the way. Fortunately, restaurants and bars closer to home are trying their best to bring the German celebration to us. Check out the five best restaurants in Mumbai you must visit for the authentic Oktoberfest experience.

blueFROG

The chefs at JW Café have created an extensive buffet spread of Bavarian delicacies including pork currywurst for the meat-lovers, pilze in sahnesosse (mushrooms in cream sauce) for the vegetarians, and desserts like berry streusel, accompanied by German-style beers. The White Owl Brewery & Bistro
They’ll debut their special Munich lager and a menu paired with fresh artisanal brews from their own brewery. Settle down at a large community table in their gorgeous lobby, and dig into the authentic Bavarian menu created by executive chef Hermann. Traditional selections like pretzels, wiener schnitzels and pork kransky sausages, are part of this special menu. Expect German brews like the the Paulaner Hefe Weissbier, Paulaner Munchner Hell, Schnedier Weisse and Erdinger Weissbier too. The Barking Deer Brewpub
They call it the Barktoberfest, and rightly so. Mumbai’s first microbrewery is brewing four different German-style beers including the Oktoberfest Marzen, Mai Bock German Lager, Going Banana Hefeweizen and Kick Ass Kolsch. It’s only fair to couple it with the Bavarian Crostini, Beschwipster Huhn (drunken chicken in beer reduction) and apple strudel.
