It’s been a four-year run for Olivier Theyskens, who has announced that he is leaving Theory.
Theyskens first worked with Theory in 2010, when he designed the capsule collection, Theyskens’ Theory, following which he was signed up as the label’s artistic director. This February, he showcased his first runway collection for the brand after Theyskens’ Theory was discontinued, and his Pre-spring 2015 collection will be his last. Having left his mark on Theory’s fashion-forward corporate wear, the Belgium-born designer has decided to move on and pursue other projects.
Considering Madonna wore his designs all the way back in 1998, followed by fashion icons Reese Witherspoon, Emma Watson and Felicity Jones, we have no doubt that Theyskens will quickly be snapped up by another fashion house. Rochas, Nina Ricci, and then, Theory – any bets where he’s headed next?
