It means bright lips minus the prep
The new Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer is a collection of 16 velvety lipsticks. It covers a spectrum of shades from nudes and corals to pinks and reds. The colours are rich, but not glossy. And designer Masaba Gupta, loves them for that very reason. They’ve been developed with shea and murumuru butters, which can only mean one thing: more moisture.
You can walk away with a Masaba Gupta make-up bag
Starting June, with any purchase worth Rs 5,000, you can snag a make-up bag designed by Masaba Gupta. While it’s a neat extension of Gupta’s SS ’15 collection, it also meant that the fashion designer was forced to think differently. “Is it something that will easily go into your travel bag? Is it water resistant? Is it heavy? These are things I had to consider, because it had to be user friendly,” says Gupta. Incidentally, she’s also a major fan of the brand. “I’ve wanted to collaborate with a beauty brand for almost two years now, and then Clinique found me. As someone with sensitive skin and lips, I find it’s a brand that works for me.”
It gives you three ready looks, teamed with Masaba Gupta’s clothes
As part of the collaboration, Clinique created face charts featuring Gupta’s favourite pinks from the collection – Sweet Pop, Wow Pop and Punch Pop. These were paired with three outfits from her candy-inspired line. “I love pink shades,” says Gupta. “For a night out I’d go with a pop pink, more fuchsia. For the day I’d go with something more peachy. I never really wear nudes. I picked these because they go easily from day to night. I also decided to carry face charts because sometimes girls don’t know how to do up their eyes, and they end up with overpowering eyes and strong lips. The charts tell you if you should try a winged liner, or something more sleek to complete the look.”
