10 Manicure Styles You Will See Everywhere This Season

We walked into the pandemic with acrylics and gel nails which gave us grief until we resorted to DIY removal hacks. But, with ease in restrictions and nail techs resuming positions in their swivel chairs, we are going back to intricate and OTT manicure styles that need an expert’s touch to get done.

Fortunately, our favourite nail artists have come out with fresh trends just in time. Here’s your fall/winter 2022 manicure mood board.

1. Swoop Nails

Taking the top spot right now are the swoop nails. You can either go for a single, bold colour or add various lacquer tints next to each other. However, our favourites are the candy-coloured swoops because they look like yummy melted candy.

2. Elevated French

French manicure styles are and will always remain a classic. It can take a variety of moods, and this season it has opted to be a tad bit *extra*. Paint your acrylics with extended French panels; they look especially good with square nails.

A celestial-themed nail trend that we did not expect will get so much attention, orb nails are perfect for anyone looking for a slightly eccentric yet still chic manicure design.

Skittle nails have one rule only – just pick your favourite colours and apply them on individual fingers to mix and match. You can either pair sweet candy pastels or opt for bolds like you will see below.

6. Fall Palette

If you wish to go for bolds, opt for a colour palette like soft browns, deep earth tones, charcoals, and blacks. This is because they will look great with your transitional wardrobe and also be easy to maintain.

7. Jewel Tones

Deeper tones of greens, blues and reds are very in this season. As a result, the bold tints are taking a cue from emeralds, sapphires and rubies, an absolute gem of the colours in the lacquer world.

8. Rainbow Tips

Rainbow tips are a fun way to add colour to your manicure while still keeping it minimal. You can also go for a bright colour on a single accent finger to go with your regular french manicure.

9. Free-Flowing Swirls

Firstly, we cannot talk about manicure styles without mentioning swirls even once. Secondly, they are so easy to do. The season’s favourite swirls take a more free-flowing route, giving you the freedom to experiment with a bunch of styles and patterns.

10. Neon Confetti

Neon spots by the nail bed and sides, or full-blown neon confetti all over your nail, is such a fantastic way of styling short nails. Keep your base buffed and blushed to make the neon tints pop out more.
