20 Red Carpet Looks We Loved From The 2021 Cannes Film Festival
With bold silhouettes and risqué cuts, the glamorous event had celebrities delivering unforgettable fashion moments
After its delay for more than a year on account of COVID-19, the most anticipated event in the film fraternity finally took place this year. The 2021 Cannes Film Festival featured grand appearances and brought back something it’s most famous for—its high on fashion, glitz and glam red carpet. Celebrities went all out and put their best foot forward to serve us bold, unforgettable fashion moments. From Bella Hadid to Tilda Swinton, here are all the red carpet looks we loved from the 74th edition of Cannes.
On the very first day of the festival, Bella Hadid made heads turn with a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier dress from the designer’s spring 2002 couture collection. The same dress was donned by model Naomi Campbell on the runway back in 2002. The white form-fitting silhouette was elevated with a black sheer cape.
Channelling '70s glam, the former Victoria Secret's Angel made her appearance in an embellished Etro jumpsuit and completed her look with chain-link jewellery.
The pink and red colour-blocked combo isn't new, but Tilda made a statement with her Haider Ackermann look, giving it a unique twist with the addition of metallic sleeves.
Shining bright on the red carpet, Sharon wowed us with her white Dolce & Gabbana gown at the festival’s closing ceremony. It featured a thigh-high slit, a sparkly tube top and a one-shoulder train.
For her second appearance, the supermodel turned it up a notch higher with a risque, avant-garde Schiaparelli gown from the maison’s Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2021/2022 collection. With a long-sleeved silhouette in wool crepe with a low-cut neckline and brass necklace in the shape of lungs, she gave us a couture moment we will never forget.
Ten years after her big Cannes breakout, Jessica Chastain walked the red carpet in Dior's all-black, strapless layered evening dress embellished with velvet scrolls.
Glimmering in a gold floral cutwork Oscar de la Renta gown, the Crazy Rich Asians star looked gorgeous at the event's closing ceremony.
Candice looked elegant in a figure-hugging creamy gown from Etro with crystal detailing on day two of Cannes.
Lighting up the red carpet, the Oscar-winning actress looked ethereal in a gleaming silver Chanel gown.
The German actress and former fashion model caught our attention as she made her appearance wearing a custom embellished tulle Giorgio Armani gown and Chaumet earrings.
Coming "Out of Hibernation", as stated by the star on her Instagram, Rosamund Pike made her very first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival! And we will certainly never forget her red ruffled Dior gown.
Relaxed dressing has become a trend owing to a year of staying at home, so why not turn it into a red carpet moment too? In another appearance, Tilda made a strong case for the trend and donned an oversized floor-length maxi from Chanel's Resort 2022 collection. Simple, yet refreshing.
The '90s supermodel dazzled in a shiny Celine asymmetrical dress and Chopard jewellery.
Twinning with the red carpet, Kat stunned us in a risque halter-neck gown by designer Nicolas Jebran.
Featuring another fierce look, model Taylor Hill looked beautiful in Etro's black gown embroidered with a tattoo paisley motif, crafted with an open-back with crisscross lacing.
Say hello to Julia Roberts' 16-year-old daughter, who made her Cannes red carpet debut with her father, Daniel Moder. While the former wore a button-up, powder yellow dress with black Mary Janes, the latter donned a classic black suit.
Here's another memorable look from the former The Vampire Diaries star. Kat grabbed eyeballs with her purple ruffled Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble.
Giving us princess Jasmine vibes, the former Victoria Secret's model wore an off-shoulder, blush-coloured, Alberta Ferretti dress.
We see the popular fashion influencer post some of the most stylish looks on the 'gram and she captivated us again in a gold-tiered Georges Hobeika gown at the event.
Bringing a Hawain, tropical spin to her red carpet look, Taylor Hill opted for Etro's cropped white shirt and paired it with the label's green, asymmetrical ruffled skirt.
