Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2021 presentations have officially kicked off! Day 1 opened up with its signature quirk factor – young and experimental designers showcased their craft with no restraints, and it made for fun and exciting styling briefs. The Lakmé Salon X Chola by Sohaya Mishra show was filled with fab beauty deets – from elevated modern shags to grown-out mullets and blush-draping. We picked out our favourite looks from the fashion film, plus how they were created in the first place.

The Feather Boa
Casually placed money pieces were used to create a hair contouring effect, making the 'do look like a feather boa framing the face. The wild and tight curls are edgy yet totally wearable. All that big and all-over texture is proof that curls are here to stay, and so are reverse smokey eyes as well.

Burnt Caramel Lob
Curly lobs with lots of bounce and volume can allow you to be a bit playful with your mane this season. Created by combining bright orange and sun-kissed yellow hues, the burnt caramel accents indicate that you can  fearless with your hair colour this season. The melon wash on the eyes and glossy lips look lovely with the warm complexion.

Green Tips and Crimson Drapes
If you just happened to chop off your lengths to make quarantine easy on your hair, this grown out pixie can offer some style inspiration. The rich green in the hair perfectly complements the bright crimson blush draping on the eyes. Statement and loud make-up details like bright eyes and statement blushes are making a comeback. However, we'd still be wearing our bases as minimal and sheer and possible. Glass-glow skin is here to stay.

Of Mullets and Ombré
Miley Cyrus might have ushered in the mullet hair trend, but it's the grown out version of the cut that has gotten massively popular now. A street-style staple, the mullet is shorter in the front, sides and crown, but much longer at the back. To recreate this book at home, you can comb the hair into place and blow dry using your fingertips to mould the hair into shape. The most crucial part of mullet styling is dealing with the short pieces that make up the pseudo-bangs. Finish with a reverse ombré eye look and glossy lips.

Salt And Pepper Quiff
Showing off your natural, or faux, greys are cool now; and so are androgynous and extremely chopped-off lengths like the quiff. Mess uproar super short hair and add silver-blonde hues to recreate the grunge-y vibe. An excellent cut to celebrate the natural texture of your hair, we are bookmarking this look to either create ourselves or get BAE to try on a dare.
