Alexander Wang reimagines Bvlgari’s Serpenti motif for a capsule collection of belt bags

If there’s one word that’s guiding fashion brands, from multi-national conglomerates to independent labels, it’s collaboration. One of the recent collaborations to take note of is between New York-based designer Alexander Wang and 135-year-old fashion house Bvlgari.

Bvlgari’s

In September 2019, Wang reimagined Bvlgari’s iconic Serpenti motif for an exclusive capsule collection of six different bag styles including a two-in-one satchel, a belt bag, and a shopper tote. These bags, which were given Wang’s signature of urban glamour were launched during New York Fashion Week as a new chapter of the ‘Serpenti Through the Eyes Of’. The project, which kicked off in 2017, also involved a range of international designers.

Bvlgari’s

‘Serpenti Through the Eyes of Alexander Wang’ has been made famous by a theme of transformation of Bvlgari’s iconic sign, the Snake. Now the hero of Bvlgari’s special collection, the belt bag, is available in three new colours dedicated to spring—baby blue, peach and pink (only for China)—in addition to the classic black and white versions.

With two snake closures, two detachable straps and a detachable handle, which can be worn around the waist, as a cross-body, over the shoulder or as a clutch, it is the latest bag to join the bandwagon of multi-hyphenate accessories. This one-of-a-kind collaboration makes this belt bag a must-have. What’s more? It’s the perfect fit for any occasion or outfit.
