As the first Indian model to star in a Balenciaga campaign, 25-year-old Dipti Sharma has broken several barriers pretty early in her career. Since then she has walked for several luxe fashion houses, like Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta, Dries van Noten and Alexander Wang. Her bowl cut and chiselled features create an unconventional yet striking beauty on the global runways. So, how has being surrounded by the best in fashion influenced her personal style? “I find inspiration in all the people I meet. I love the ’80s and ’90s style, and you’ll mostly find me wearing oversized shirts, tops, and pants in a chic way,” she says. Read on to know more about the model’s go-to beauty products and the recipe for her morning smoothie.

I like…

“Wearing strong fragrances so I usually go with men’s perfumes

My 5-minute essentials are…

For nourished healthy skin…

“I load up on green vegetables and drink lots of water. It all depends on what you put in your body”

The best backstage skincare tip I’ve learnt…

“Always take off your make-up before bed.”

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water, INR 1695

The trick to nailing my slicked back hairdo…

“I use Lush Dirty Styling Cream on wet hair, comb it back, blow dry and wait for 5 minutes for it to set. Then, I use a L’Oréal hairspray for a frizz-free look.”

Lush Dirty Styling Cream, INR 1,276

A beauty trend I am still trying to master…

“Winged eyeliner!

My pre-flight skin routine includes…

“I prep my skin with a combination of two masks. In-flight, I use the Kiehl’s moisturiser every other hour because the air pressure makes my skin really dry.”

If I could eat one cuisine every day it would be…

“Mediterranean and Japanese! Especially sushi and shrimp tempura.”

“If I have a long break I love travelling; Morocco has been a favourite so far because of all the culture.”

Jardin Majorelle, Morocco

My favourite shopping destination…

“Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the little Parisian boutiques and vintage shops I find while walking around.

I start my day with…

“Celery juice from Pressed Juicery. It’s only celery, water and lemon— sometimes I add collagen powder for extra protein.”

When I breakout…

“I try to not touch it. I use a lot of AHAs/BHAs, niacinamide and a very strong clay mask to reduce the size of the breakouts.”
