From ’80s hair to goth glam, here’s our Spring/Summer 2020 beauty edit

If the words OTT, extra and maximal describe your make-up style perfectly, sit up. This spring/summer’s trends are all that and more and to make it easier for beauty enthusiasts out there, we’ve rounded up our favourite hair, make-up and nail art trends. Keep scrolling to know more:

1. SKETCH ARTIST:  Chromat, Rosie Assoulin and Moschino went to town with graphic (read: drawn) doodles. Think blue floating wings, white cloud squiggles and painted strokes of colour on chignons. Sies Marjan created waves with defined hair comb marks along the crown.

2. GO GOTH: Wednesday Addams-inspired beauty made it past Halloween as Dior, Max Mara, Marques’ Almeida paid tribute with frizz-free braids, burgundy lipstick and vinyl, inky lips. Update your all-black mani with a gradient ombré.

3. FLASHBACK: Wear colour—’80s Cher style. On the runway, Jeremy Scott, House of Holland, A-Jane and Jason Wu had models wearing pastel wigs, neon pink eyeshadow, holographic glitter and a pop of blush.

4. FRESH TAKE: In contrast to the ’80s look, low-key beauty and scallop edged French manis reigned supreme at Brandon Maxwell, Longchamp and Fashion East. Princess Diana’s feminine ’do, complete with plastic hair combs made a reappearance at Tory Burch.
