Red Blush Can Be Intimidating But The Pigments From These Homegrown Brands Are Just Right

blush

Claiming somewhat of superhero status at this point, blush is climbing up the makeup ladder. If your memory is as good as mine, you’d remember that purple blush had its moment. This time around, it’s red blush and we’re calling it a trend to watch out for.

First things first, red can be intimidating! While the red lip is a classic pick for many, a number of people find it too ‘loud’ for their liking. For those, using red on cheeks may not be an appealing idea either. However, red can be bold, elegant and versatile, and look natural on the cheeks. Also, it suits all skin tones and matches every makeup look you sport.

In the last few years, we’ve seen many homegrown beauty brands offer us the best in beauty, whether that’s skincare, hair care or makeup. In my quest for the perfect red blush, I came across a few brands that offer intense pigmentation, top-notch formulations and sustainable ingredients. Here are the red blushes that you must get your hands on.

Henaa Hainaa Beauty Lush Rouge in Claret

I discovered this brand when I was scouring the internet for an extremely pigmented liquid blush. At first glance, the Henaa Hainaa Beauty Lush Rouge in Claret looks like a bright liquid lipstick, but it’s a liquid blush. This product is a water- and gel-based blush which comes infused with hyaluronic acid.

A little product goes a long way, thanks to its intense pigment. Claret is a blood-red hue which gives an intense pay-off. However, this needs to be blended out immediately as it may settle on the skin. My favourite feature about the Lush Rouge is how it lasts all day long and requires no or minimal reapplication.

If minimalist blushes are your thing then Bindt Beauty’s A Touch Of Colour Multi-Use Tint in Crimson is something you may need. Enriched with ingredients like jojoba oil, cocoa butter and rosehip oil, this product allows you to wear makeup without stressing about it harming the skin.

In the pan, the shade might look overpowering,  but on the skin, it blends into a soft reddish hue which looks natural. With buildable pigment, this blush is ideal for you if you’re looking for a subtle pop of colour on the cheeks and lips. It’s also a product you can apply without any primer as it doesn’t blotch on textured skin.

Daughter Earth Vitamin E Lip and Cheek Tint in Amor

Just like the purple blush from Daughter Earth was an instant hit, the Lip and Cheek Tint in Amor is a must-have too. Infused with the goodness of vitamin E and wild sea berries of Spiti, this multifunctional product is one of their bestsellers for a good reason. Commendable pigment, smooth texture and clean ingredients are enough reasons to try this blush.

Lovechild by Masaba Band Baaja Blush in Lal Lal Land

blush

Masaba Gupta’s Lovechild Band Baaja Blush packs a massive punch of pigment. The shade Lal Lal Land is a daring red which will certainly turn heads everywhere you go. It has a creamy formula that can be layered on a base or even on bare skin, however, I’d advise you to go a little easy on the amount of product since the pigment is quite intense. The adorable packaging makes it an attractive product to have around!

Earth Rhythm Lip and Cheek Tint in Cherry

blush

Earth Rhythm’s Lip and Cheek Tint in Cherry also performs the feat of moisturising your skin while giving it some healthy colour. Its sheer formula works well for those who prefer keeping it subtle. Also, if you follow (and like) dewy dumpling trend on social media, this should be your product pick to achieve the same. However, if you have severely oily skin, steer clear of it since it could make your skin appear oilier after a couple of hours.
