Hollywood’s most glamorous night, the Oscars took place at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood and Highland Centre last evening. While everyone’s attention was on John Cena’s internet-breaking entrance, our eyes were on all of the showstopping beauty looks our favourite stars sported. Just like we anticipated, the red carpet had elements of elegance, radiance and a hint of drama. From sultry feline eyes to slicked-back hair and natural lips, we saw it all.
Here are few beauty looks that made it to our beauty moodboards.
Margot Robbie
A departure from her usual perfectly styled hair, Margot Robbie decided to go with slightly tousled waves this time around. She’s always loved her subtle makeup with a soft wash of colour on the cheeks, and this was no different. The Barbie star opted for a cool-toned brown lip that we’re going to be seeing everywhere this season all thanks to the resurgence of brown lipstick.
Quannah Chasinghorse
Quannah Chasinghorse never fails to deliver on the red carpet, whether we’re talking about her culturally significant outfits or her striking beauty looks. For the Oscars, she sported the iconic zig-zag parting with baby braids that were accessorised with golden clips. She let her eyes do the talking with red graphic eyeliner that accentuated her face tattoos. The red glossy lip proved that red will never go out of style.
Florence Pugh
Florence Pugh never fails to impress us with her edgy yet soft style. Her makeup was the perfect blend of smouldering and romantic with a dusty pink eye and slightly mauve lips. Her platinum blonde hair was styled in waves with lots of added texture.
Lily-Rose Depp
If you thought coquettecore was just a fleeting trend, think again. Lily-Rose embodied the quintessential coquette woman with her look for the night. With brown supermodel eyes that were paired with an ultra-precise flick along with radiant pink blush, she exuded sultriness. A slicked back bun was Lily’s weapon of choice that brought the entire makeup look together.
Emma Stone
The two-time Academy Award winner Emma Stone showed us what fresh-faced makeup looks like. Her makeup had a lit-from-within glow with those flushed cheeks, brown winged eyeliner and perfectly pink lips. With hair tucked back elegantly, Emma’s overall look was the epitome of elegance.
Lupita Nyongo
Taking things up a notch, Lupita Nyongo decided to bring glamour to her makeup. Shimmering golden eyelids, intense kohl and a glossy red lip ensured that her makeup was spectacular.
Emily Blunt
Basking in the success of Oppenheimer‘s big wins, Emily Blunt’s warm makeup look fits right into our summer beauty moodboard. Her eyes were graced with earthy browns and her bronzed cheeks featured a subtle golden glow. Instead of letting her hair loose, she chose a messy, braided bun which added depth to her final look.
Gabrielle Union
Does anybody else think Gabrielle Union looked like a real-life princess as she strutted down the red carpet? Her ornate, ballerina bun was the star of the evening. She opted for a soft, smokey eye with fluttering lashes that looked ethereal. She decided to keep the lips neutral which allowed her hair and eyes to make a smashing statement.
