Connecting Nha Trang & Quy Nhon, The Luxury Train Is A Must-Do Addition To Your Vietnam Itinerary

Train rides are an experience many of us fondly remember from childhood. The bustling railway stations, the excitement of boarding the train, and the delightful challenge of finding adjacent seats for your family result in a journey filled with cherished memories. Building on the nostalgia of vintage train rides and adding the luxurious Anantara hospitality touch, the Vietage by Anantara offers a 12-guest-only luxury carriage, ensuring an exclusive and intimate experience. This unique journey connects you to the coastlines of Quy Nhon, the ancient town of Hoi An, and the bustling city of Nha Trang, in Vietnam.

Inspired by the beauty of Vietnam and the elegance of vintage rail travel, the Vietage carriage features six spacious booths with comfortable window seats that convert into beds for night journeys. The train is meticulously designed to provide a relaxing and comfortable journey, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking views of lush green landscapes, white cranes drifting across blue skies, and vibrant lotus ponds, rice paddies, and bright bursts of frangipanis. Marvel at the striking coastline fronting the East Sea and expansive bays before the train heads inland into the mountainous province of Phú Yên, home to the Champa people and the many historical landmarks.

Vietnam

Our journey began at the charming Anantara Hoi An Resort in the ancient town of Hoi An. You can explore local markets, dine at the property’s riverfront restaurants, and catch the sunset on a private jetty river cruise.

The Vietage boasts a well-stocked bar, gourmet dining experiences, and a dedicated massage area. Sip on bubbles while savouring the local flavours of Vietnam and taking in the panoramic views of postcard-perfect terrains. Our three-course meal comprised the Quy Nhon seafood salad—a delicious mix of green papaya, carrot and mint served with sweet and sour fish sauce, the Hoi An chicken rice, and a passion fruit tart with dragon fruit compote and meringue. While Vietnam is known for its coffee culture, the tea is worth a try too. Take your pick from the Lord Dong ancient tradition—black tea from Lam Dong province—with a subtle dark chocolate taste to Oriental Beauty Madam, described as the champagne of tea with delicate notes of spice and aromas of honey and fruit.

Departing at 8 AM from Da Nang and arriving in Quy Nhon at 2 PM, we checked into the luxurious Anantara Quy Nhon Villas. The ocean-view pool villas overlooking a private cove are the perfect spot for some me-time. We started the day with a spa appointment and ended it with a private beach dining experience complete with a personal chef. Add in a local city tour, several cups of the famous cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee with milk), and Bánh khọt (Vietnamese mini savoury pancakes), and you have the perfect holiday.
