House of the Dragon this, House of the Dragon that. The Game of Thrones prequel saga had everyone and their best friend struggling to turn a blind eye to the sea of spoilers on the internet. Now that Rhaenyra aka Queen Who Was Promised and Alicent are adults and leading their own massive armies, Westeros is getting started for full-scale conflict. The new season started with a promise of bloodshed, family drama, dragons, and wars, which didn’t quite deliver in its initial and highly anticipated finales moments.

The stakes were high for both teams green and black with these vicious creatures that have the power to completely change the course of events. And if I look back, most of the memorable scenes in House of the Dragon season two are brought to us by these scaly monsters.

1. Mysaria Kisses Rhaenyra (Episode 6)
I honestly think this is one of the most beautiful kisses I’ve ever seen on screen.
The hug, the way they embrace, how Mysaria kisses Rhaenyra’s neck, and then the kiss starts relaxed, almost as if relieved, and then it gets so desperate, hungry… pic.twitter.com/ddCuOIb6zC— Pathological People Pleaser (@repugaytionlor) July 23, 2024
Eyes out of sockets! In an unexpectedly candid moment, Mysaria shares details about her history and a life-altering terrible incident. She is seen hugging Rhaenyra, who later gives her a passionate kiss before one of Rhaenyra’s assistants breaks up the encounter.
2. Daemon And His Weird Visions (Episode 8)
Daemon sees white walkers and deanerys in his visions.
So it’s confirmed now daenerys is the prince who was promised🫶💖. Song of ice and fire.🥺#HouseOfTheDragons2ep8 pic.twitter.com/WwxzpGX3kR— Maryam. (@apki_murshad) August 4, 2024
As Twitter is calling (and we agree), this sequence felt like a 70-minute trailer for season three. Daemon is tormented by visions while he stays at Harrenhal. One of the most unexpected is the first one, in which a younger Rhaenyra sews Jaehaery’s head back on. Maddie Allcock makes a chilling cameo that leaves a lasting impression on Daemon.
3. Rhaenyra Confronts Alicent (Episode 3)
Rhaenyra sets up an elaborate plan to meet Alicent discretely and seek a truce in an effort to prevent an all-out war. In a hidden corner of the chapel, they talk about the approaching disaster, but not even Rhaenyra’s revelation of Visery’s final words on his deathbed can convince Alicent to reconsider her decision. I mean, her son is the king, this lady is just hungry for blood.
4. Jaecaerys Mourning Luke’s Death (Episode 1)
Jaecaerys is the good son who has always been carrying out his responsibilities of making suggestions to the war council as the firstborn son of the future queen. He and Lucerys were to be sent as envoys by Rhaenyra to the other houses in an attempt to win their support. As a result, his younger brother had to face death. And after successfully joining Team Blacks on Winterfell, he goes back to Dragonstone and tries to give his mother a thorough report, but he breaks down and can no longer contain his sadness, wanting nothing more than to hug his mother and cry. It was a heartbreaking moment to watch the whole family morning of the loss.
5. Vermithor Sets Fire To Everyone (Episode 5)
This was the only fire served to the viewers of House of the Dragon season two. As most of us are aware, when it comes to who gets to ride them, dragons are infamously picky. When Seasmoke fries Ser Steffon Darklyn, we witness that a few ways prior. Though Hugh the Hammer is chosen as its rider, Vermithor’s response to the riders trying their luck is much worse, as he murders numerous Targaryen relatives. (The fire lizard burns the house down).
