While the Chinese dim sum tea house, Yauatcha, is known for its Cantonese offerings in Mumbai, it is equally loved for its indulgent desserts. Every year, Yauatcha pushes the boundaries of creativity by collaborating with creators in the fashion and beauty space to introduce festive desserts for Diwali. Following previous partnerships with the likes of Manish Malhotra, Papa Don’t Preach, and Lovechild by Masaba, Yauatcha taps the jewellery space this year. This festive season, Yautcha has collaborated with one of India’s most celebrated jewellery labels, Tribe Amrapali to present Timeless Desserts, Handcrafted Treasures.
Udai Pinali, CEO at Aditya Birla New Age Hospitality says, “This year’s collaboration with Tribe Amrapali is especially close to our hearts, as it beautifully marries Indian artistry with French pâtisserie. Inspired by Tribe Amrapali’s iconic Navratna collection, we’ve thoughtfully created chocolates, macarons, and petit gateaux featuring nostalgic Indian flavours like gulkand, jamun, peach jam, and custard apple—each dessert telling its own story. The packaging, with its traditional Indian motifs and intricate details like the parrot symbolising good fortune, adds a personal touch, making these hampers perfect for celebrating the festive season in true spirit.”
“This partnership is an exciting fusion of two worlds—jewellery and cuisine, driven by a shared passion for craftsmanship, creativity, and storytelling,” shares Tarang Arora, CEO & Creative Director of Amrapali Jewels. “Together, we’re creating an experience that speaks to the artistry behind both forms. Navratna holds a special place in Indian jewellery, symbolising wealth and abundance, and we’re bringing that story to life in a delightful, modern way.”
The collection reimagines the Navratna gemstones into a multisensory experience, celebrating their vibrant colours and symbolic meanings through a range of luxurious desserts. The result is nine desserts, handcrafted bonbons and macarons each, thoughtfully curated to evoke the elegance of fine jewellery while delivering bold, unexpected Indian flavours. And we got an exclusive first look at these festive treats.
Decadent Desserts
The petit gateaux are a reflection of modern India with fruit-forward flavours such as guava, fig, lychee, tangerine, and sweet lime, along with classics like caramel cocoa and raspberry & chocolate. The Orange Sesame (Orange joconde, Nagpur orange marmalade, sesame peanut crunch, and orange chocolate mousse) and Tangerine Sachertorte (sacher sponge, tangerine jam, and chocolate shiny glaze) are perfect for those who like this citrus-sweet combo. Anjeer fans will enjoy the Fig & Walnut Tart. Fresh plums make their way into the Plum Jasmine Gateaux (Chocolate hazelnut, caramelised honey panna cotta, jasmine ganache, and Kashmiri plum compote).
My favourite fruit lychee finds a place in Lychee & Sweet Lime (Almond jocund, sweet lime marmalade, lychee jam, saffron mousse, white chocolate)–this one is a must-try for sure. The Caramel Cocoa Pecan brownie with caramel mousse, chocolate streusel, and dark chocolate is a vegan option that still manages to bring in the indulgence whereas the Raspberry & Chocolate Praline sponge cake with praline milk chocolate ganache, raspberry and rice puff crunch brings in comfort with classic flavours. The Guava & Peach Delice (almond sponge, spicy guava jelly, peach compote, mascarpone cheese mousse) and Mango Coconut Crème (coconut mousse, mango melba, malai, Vanilla sponge, coconut ganache) are equally delectable.
Beautiful Bonbons
Named after each gemstone, the chocolates offer a multisensory experience with vibrant flavours and rich textures. The handcrafted bonbon collection, which also manages to look like each gem includes Jasmine Sapphire (white chocolate with green apple compote and jasmine ganache), Ruby Spice (dark chocolate praline with spicy caramel cream), Mint Emerald (dark chocolate with fresh mint ganache), Bailey’s Pearl (milk chocolate, Bailey’s ganache), Cherry Sapphire (white chocolate, cherries marmalade, dark fudge chocolate), Coconut sparkle (milk chocolate, coconut lime ganache), Mandarin Gomed (dark chocolate, saffron white chocolate cream, mandarin jam), The cat’s eye (milk chocolate, golden caramel and Coral Berry (white chocolate, feuilletine crunch, mixed berries compote).
Marvellous Macarons
Expect classic, nostalgic Indian flavours such as gulkand, jamun, peach jam, and custard apple with every bite of the macaron. Take your pick from Rose Pearl (citrus white chocolate ganache with gulkand jam), Peanut Caramel (peanut butter cream and golden caramel), Jamun & Custard Apple (jamun crèmeux with custard apple gel, Saffron Mango (saffron malai with mango fruit cream), Bailey’s Espresso (Bailey’s espresso chocolate), Strawberry Cocoa (dark chocolate ganache, strawberry gel), Cashew and Peach (salted cashew ganache, peach jam), Dark Fig (dark fudge, fig compote) and Pistachio Nougat (pistachio ganache, dry nut nougat praline).
Additionally, the festive hamper also includes two chocolate bars – the coral berry bar draws inspiration from the coral stone, while the caramel peanut bar is an innovative play on peanut butter and caramel.
Whether you choose to gift this indulgent box to your loved ones or simply enjoy its sweet offerings by yourself, these contemporary desserts are sure to spread the festive cheer this season.
