After three successful outlets in the city, Social Offline finally comes to the suburbs of Mumbai with its newest outpost, Khar Social – this time, with a skate park. It is the first of its kind in the country, set within the restaurant against a wall spray-painted by artist Hanif Kureshi and designed by ace Brit skateboarder Nick Smith in collaboration with Red Bull. The two-storeyed space borrows from low-income housing units and the concept of ‘jugaad’, and everything you’ll find here is 100 per cent upcycled. Expect table-tops made of junked timber-frame doors and lights that have been sourced from doctors’ rooms! Now you know where to find us on the weekend.
