About a week after I got my hair permanently straightened, I came to the realisation that perhaps this wasn’t the best decision. My hair was stripped of all its bounce and volume. I couldn’t style them, and the hair fall was disheartening. Since then, I’ve made every attempt to revive my hair and care for them as best as I can. Hair care has become synonymous with self-care, and the indé wild champi hair oil has been my constant companion throughout. So, you can imagine my excitement when I heard the brand was extending their hair care line.
In light of indé wild’s newest launch of the Moonlight Scalp Serum, we had the opportunity to chat with Diipa Khosla, the woman behind the brand, about environmental responsibilities, scalp-care, and her mother’s influence while creating products for indé wild-
ELLE: Indē wild is an ethical and conscious brand. What are some practices that you follow in your personal life that are based along the same principles?
Diipa Khosla (DD): Whether it’s my diet, clothing, or household items, I try to ensure that my choices align with the values of environmental responsibility and social consciousness. I strive to uphold the principles that have shaped indē wild. It’s all about making a positive impact, no matter how small, in everything I do!
ELLE: There are quite a few Ayurvedic hair care and skin care brands in the market. Many of them are also of South Asian origin. How does indē wild stand out in such a saturated space?

DD: For indē wild, our focus is on curating a simple, minimal and effective range of products. We want to offer products that are easy to incorporate by simplifying your 10-step skincare routine into one while delivering real results. Our focus is on staying true to our values and creating something that genuinely resonates with our customers. We don’t see other brands as competitors, but rather as brand friends who share the same vision of promoting Ayurveda. We can collaboratively elevate the goal of promoting South Asian and sustainable practices in the beauty industry.
ELLE: Ayurveda is a practice rooted in the Indian subcontinent. As a content creator, your audience is spread all over the world. How does your customer base abroad react to Ayurvedic products and ingredients?
DD: The response we’ve received from our global audience has been beyond amazing! It’s been heart warming to see how well ayurveda backed by chemistry has been received by our customers abroad. In today’s interconnected world, people are more open to embracing and celebrating different cultures. Ayurveda, while originating in India, holds universal appeal which allows us to connect with our global audience, promoting a sense of togetherness and inclusivity, which is a core value we cherish at indē wild.
ELLE: Your mother has really long and healthy hair. So, while formulating your hair-care products, do you consult with her and test the product on her lovely hair?
DD: Absolutely! My mom is the secret weapon! My mother’s knowledge and experience play a crucial role in formulating our products. Her incredible hair is a testament to her deep knowledge of traditional ingredients and practices. Both she and I are always the first ones to test our products, ensuring that they meet the high standards we set for indē Wild.

ELLE: Inde wild’s Champi Hair Oil focuses on increasing blood circulation in the scalp. The New Moonlight Scalp Serum is also an overnight scalp treatment. How does scalp-care play an essential part of a hair-care routine?
DD: Scalp care is often the unsung hero in any hair-care routine but we take it seriously at indē wild! It’s essential because the health of our hair is directly linked to the health of our scalp. Our Moonlight Scalp Serum provides intensive nourishment to the scalp, ensuring that hair receives the essential nutrients it needs to thrive. When used together, our Champi Hair Oil and Moonlight Scalp Serum are designed to increase blood circulation in the scalp, nourish the hair follicles and promote healthy hair growth.
ELLE: Do you plan on extending your hair care range?
DD: While I can’t reveal too much, I can tell you that haircare is an area we hold close to our hearts. Hair is a vital part of our identity and well-being and we believe it has loads of potential. The possibilities are endless, and we want to keep highlighting the importance of hair care and wellness.
