‘New Year New Me’ is a full cliché. Yes, I know. But if I have learned anything from being the ‘lover, rom-com obsessed, aesthetics over anything girlie’, it's the fact that clichés exist, for a reason. Think of it as the feeling of the new year is much like the feeling of getting an empty board. Hence, the whole vision board thing excites me - we get to fill our board with anything we want without having to look back, plus isn't there something about believing in the process? A man can’t fix me, but a new year while making vision boards can! 

What Is A Vision Board?

A vision board is basically a collection of images, words, and symbols that represent anything to you towards your goals and dreams, put together on a physical or virtual board. Now, If you want to go deeper about what it really is and how to go about making it from someone who has seen their vision board come to life - you can watch a dozen Instagram reels on 'My 2024 vision board and everything that came true this year'  which will really push you over the edge. Or you could read an article by a girl who struggled major time with making it all work and even though not everything fell into place, a lot of the things surprisingly did, aka read this article!

Attention To Detail

Making a vision board is serious business if you ask me. The art of making a vision board completely relies on you being the driver of your own life! The power lies in visualising 'correctly,' with this, I mean don't just be like - 'I want to be rich' instead put out statements like 'I want to start making xyz amount of money.' This is where the attention to detail comes in while adding anything to your vision board, envision the entire journey of how you are going to achieve this goal because nothing is going to come out of that board and magically happen to you (although I do believe certain things align themselves, grabbing that opportunity is still in your hands). Your vision board should represent not only your goals, but the lifestyle you want to build. 

Images: A Task

Finding the 'right' images can be a task because you don't really want to be using just anything, like girlypop that's not inspiring enough! Use images that represent you and connect with you as an individual. Honestly, draw if you can, for me I have always been a scrapbook kid. So, cutting out images that resonate with me and pasting them, making a collage is where I peak! 

Main Character Energy

In 2025, we are making sure we only serve main character energy. It's your world and everyone else is just living in it! We are going to channel our inner Emily from Emily In Paris, be as delusional as we can! Think of it as; what do you really have to lose? All you are going to do is not let anyone else's opinions about you or your goals get to you. A girl's got to dream and being delusional is literally a part of that process. 

The How?

First things first, drag a person or persons you would love to sit and dream with. A girl's night in with some wine and whine is the perfect way to do it ~ can't blame a girl for being a girl's girl! 

A personal suggestion: Write a letter to yourself from the future to your current self visualising and describing your future life in present tense. Might sound a bit strange, but this literally made my vision board much more personal and effective because then whatever you see yourself doing are the images to go for!

You can divide your vision board into 4 parts: Personal Growth, Work/Career, Relationships and Health. By dividing your vision board into parts you create an atmosphere to visualise your lifestyle better and we love that.

At last, I just want to say, learn to have fun with your vision board. Do not set timelines for yourself, your goal should be moving in the direction of the lifestyle you want and not just the final destination!
