‘Because you’re worth it.” These iconic words associated with French beauty giant L’Oréal Paris have become a beacon of empowerment and confidence for women across the world. Besides creating advanced and safe products that are accessible to all, the brand has been conscious about its choice of ambassadors, ensuring each of them walks the talk on inclusivity.

From Viola Davis to Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria to Kendall Jenner, and Ellie Fanning, to name a few—these celebs have used their power and influence to shape the narrative around women’s empowerment. The newest entrant on this list is award-winning actress, producer, and entrepreneur, Alia Bhatt.

She’s all set to make her grand debut as the Global Brand Ambassador for L’Oréal Paris at Paris Fashion Week 2024. The multihyphenate will walk the runway at the highly-anticipated Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris on September 23 at the prestigious Place de l’Opéra. This event epitomises women’s empowerment, inclusion and sisterhood.

Since 2017, this is the seventh time that Le Défilé has established synergies between beauty and fashion. This year’s runway theme ‘Walk Your Worth’ is along the same lines, offering a sneak peek into cutting-edge creations with a side of beauty.

Alia will wear the iconic nude lipstick shade ‘Worth It’ from L’Oréal Paris’ Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid lipstick collection.

“Firsts are always special. I am deeply honoured to walk for Le Défilé with L’Oréal Paris at Paris Fashion Week. Being among such inspiring, powerful and confident women is a moment of pride for me and I can’t wait to join them at this platform that celebrates sisterhood and empowerment,” she says.

Listed among Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024, Alia has taken India to the world stage through her acting chops and choice of roles. She also launched her production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions in 2019 to create content that’s engaging yet impactful, besides ensuring diversity and representation in the entertainment industry. Her first film Darlings as well as the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series Poacher reflect her commitment to environmental and social issues.

She’s also the founder of Ed-a-Mamma, an eco-conscious clothing brand that attempts to instill a love of nature in children.

“I admire how Alia uses her global platform and role as a producer to push for inclusivity in the film industry and to shed light on Indian cinema worldwide. Her commitment to care for people and the planet makes her the perfect ambassador for female talent, entrepreneurship, and the endless possibilities L’Oréal Paris seeks to open up by uplifting women’s worth,” said Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, L’Oréal Paris Global President.

Alia resonates with the brand’s commitment to ensuring every woman feels valued. “As someone who has always been deeply interested in all things skin, I admire the brand for its pioneering innovations and commitment to excellence in the beauty industry. I am excited to collaborate with L’Oréal Paris to make a positive impact in the beauty industry and champion inclusivity for women,” says the Gully Boy actress.

For L’Oréal Paris, it has been more than 50 years of celebrating women’s worth and ambitions. The brand believes that beauty is never one-size-fits-all—every woman, irrespective of her colour, age and size, has her strengths that make her shine. While society may try and hold her back, it’s always her choice to break shackles and emerge stronger. There’s nothing more empowering than that!
