Each year, the celebrity style set go the extra mile to reference their favourite icons (and iconic moments) of the past and present for Halloween.

Fortunately, it’s been a wild year of surprising pop culture moments. From unexpected celebrity couple moments to the Paris Olympics, and Moo Deng, here are the outfit ideas you need to prove you have your finger on the pop culture pulse.

However, the finest Halloween-y pick (and a perfect costume for besties or a couple) has to be Sabrina’s viral Taste video with Jenna Ortega. Grab yourself some figure-hugging black gowns and a netted face veil and you’re set! You could even delve into the music video’s source material, and try a look from the ’90s hit Death Becomes Her.

ICYMI (seriously, how could you miss it?), Raygun was the Australian break dancer whose Olympic routine went viral all over the world.
