Celebrating Heritage: Raw Mango and Aurus Jewels Unite For A Vibrant Showcase

The Kanoria Centre for Arts in Ahmedabad buzzed with excitement on the evening of November 15, 2024, as ELAN hosted a spectacular showcase celebrating the 15th anniversary of Raw Mango alongside the exquisite jewellery of Aurus Jewels. The event was a vibrant tapestry of culture and creativity, marked by lively music that filled the air, creating an atmosphere that was both festive and delightful, reminiscent of the rich cultural heritage that both brands embody.

The showcase started with Raw Mango’s “Garland” collection, which draws inspiration from the ubiquitous presence of garlands in Indian culture. The collection showcased an array of garments that reflected the intricate artistry of floral torans, braided malas, and sculptural forms reminiscent of Mauryan art with delicate embroidery on garments. The showcase continued with pieces from the upcoming “Agama” collection, featuring kantha jackets and a revival of mashru-ikat textiles. The “Children of the Night” collection also made an appearance, showing innovative handloom techniques that incorporated lycra and sculptural elements within the garments. While I was captivated by the collection, the long braids adorned by the models that flowed gracefully to the ground caught my attention. The sound of dhol, playing during the second half of the show, echoed throughout the venue and captivated the attention of the guests present, adding to the narrative of the cultural showcase.

Doshi, the centre has long been a haven for artistic expression in Ahmedabad. Its legacy as a cultural institution added depth to the evening’s proceedings, highlighting the importance of nurturing creativity within a community.

He noted how the city’s rich architectural heritage continually inspires his creative process. The garments presented were not just fashion items; they were narratives woven into the fabric, celebrating India’s diverse cultural tapestry. Aurus Jewels complimented this stunning display with their own creations, showcasing jewellery that seamlessly blended traditional craftsmanship with modern design. The pieces were not just adornments; they were statements of identity and artistry. Co-founder Puja Shah spoke passionately about the collaboration with Raw Mango, emphasising how both brands share a philosophy rooted in heritage while pushing creative boundaries. This partnership allowed for an exploration of new design possibilities, exemplified by how Aurus’ Nila Baug Court jewellery harmonised beautifully with Raw Mango’s garments.

Throughout the event, guests mingled in their elegant attire, adorned with both Raw Mango’s textiles and Aurus’ jewellery. The collaboration between Raw Mango and Aurus Jewels was more than just a showcase; it was a heartfelt tribute to Indian artistry and craftsmanship. The stories woven into each garment and piece of jewellery echoed through the venue, celebrating love, identity, and heritage in a way that resonated deeply with all who attended. In this vibrant setting at the Kanoria Centre for Arts, surrounded by creativity it was a celebration not just of fashion but of culture itself.
