The Kanoria Centre for Arts in Ahmedabad buzzed with excitement on the evening of November 15, 2024, as ELAN hosted a spectacular showcase celebrating the 15th anniversary of Raw Mango alongside the exquisite jewellery of Aurus Jewels. The event was a vibrant tapestry of culture and creativity, marked by lively music that filled the air, creating an atmosphere that was both festive and delightful, reminiscent of the rich cultural heritage that both brands embody.
The showcase started with Raw Mango’s “Garland” collection, which draws inspiration from the ubiquitous presence of garlands in Indian culture. The collection showcased an array of garments that reflected the intricate artistry of floral torans, braided malas, and sculptural forms reminiscent of Mauryan art with delicate embroidery on garments. The showcase continued with pieces from the upcoming “Agama” collection, featuring kantha jackets and a revival of mashru-ikat textiles. The “Children of the Night” collection also made an appearance, showing innovative handloom techniques that incorporated lycra and sculptural elements within the garments. While I was captivated by the collection, the long braids adorned by the models that flowed gracefully to the ground caught my attention.
