Copenhagen Fashion Week has wrapped up, but its vibrant spirit continues to inspire us. This season has showcased a delightful blend of street style and trendsetting collections, leaving us with some key takeaways that are as quirky as they are stylish.

Embrace the quirk

One thing that the Scandis surely know is to have fun with fashion. In the heart of Denmark’s “City of Joy”. Wear your toys out like (di)vision showcased or go bold with prints and colours by taking inspiration from the Marimekko collection. So, don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and embrace your inner weird.

Flaunt your florals

Florals are back in full bloom! Despite Miranda Priestly’s infamous dismissal of florals for spring, Copenhagen Fashion Week was awash with vibrant florals. Designers Marimekko, Munthe, and Rolf Ekroth showed floral prints and designs in their collections. You can also get inspired by the collection by Rotate and introduce floral belts into your look. Florals are in fact groundbreaking this season.

Cool for the summer: Let’s get knit

Who says knits are just for winter? Watch the fashion community redefine seasonal boundaries by incorporating knitwear into their summer wardrobes. A.Roege Hove and Caro Editions, showcased a variety, including cardigans and dresses in their Spring/Summer collection. Seeing as how we work in places with extreme tundra-adjacent temperatures, keeping some cardis out to pair with dresses might actually work out in your favour.

Fashion a flip-flop(s)

Fashion faux pas, who? Copenhagen Fashion Week has surprised us with a resurgence of flip-flops. The collection at The Royal Danish Academy had flip-flops complementing their dresses. The guests and the attendees also chose comfort and wore flip-flops while attending the shows. With stylish designs and kitten heels that complement various outfits, it’s time to embrace the comfort of flip-flops and bid farewell to those toe-wrecking heels.

Layer like a pro

Layering was a standout trend at this fashion week, with the collections as well as the attendees showcasing their creativity through playful combinations. The collection by Fine Chaos can be your inspiration for this experiment. Think tank tops over formal shirts or skirts layered over pants.  The message is clear: layering is not just practical; it’s a fun way to express your personal style.

Return of the hair accessories

The guests attending the Copenhagen Fashion Week made a style statement with their hair accessories. Head scarves, bandanas, and scrunchies have made it to the ramp. Say goodbye to baseball caps and hello to chic ways to tie your hair up—especially with adorable knit scrunchies stealing the spotlight!

Copenhagen Fashion Week has once again set the standard for creativity in fashion, reminding us all to enjoy the journey of self-expression through style.
