Istituto Marangoni, a leading fashion and design school with campuses in Italy, London, Paris, Shanghai, and Mumbai, has announced the Next Generation Scholarship scouting initiative. This program aims to provide talented students worldwide with the opportunity to study fashion and design at Istituto Marangoni Mumbai by offering them scholarships that cover 50% of the tuition fees for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The scholarships are available for the August 2023 intake of students and are open to anyone who aspires to study at Istituto Marangoni. In addition to the financial support, the initiative provides a platform for students to showcase their creative vision and talent by submitting a project that represents their take on ‘Contemporizing Tradition.’
India has a rich heritage of traditional crafts that are used by many designers globally. The new generation of fashion consumers is environmentally and socially conscious and demands transparency and stories of the creative process. Therefore, aspiring students are invited to submit a proposal that preserves and contemporizes Indian crafts in a socially and environmentally responsible context.
The jury that will evaluate the projects comprises Sara Sozzani Maino, Advisor at Istituto Marangoni, Ainee Ahmedi, Editor of ELLE India, Mrudul Phatak-Kundu, Editor of ELLE Décor India, Mevin Murden, Director of Education at Istituto Marangoni Mumbai, Dhruv Kapoor, IM Alumni & Fashion Mentor, and Rooshad Shroff, IM Design Mentor.
Students are encouraged to develop their projects in different formats, including video animations, PowerPoint presentations, portfolios with music or voice-overs, stop-motion animations, or video stories.
