From Tanks To Silk Shirts, These Menswear Trends Are Having Their Big Fashion Moment

A visible shift can be seen in the menswear radar; male celebrities are stepping up their style game. Gone are the days when men used to throw on anything that sat on top of the closet and call it a day. The rise of Fashiongram aka the urge to have a personal style sense has made menswear move past its plain white tee and jeans era and we aren’t complaining, even a bit.

The previous editions of the menswear runway presentations are proof of it and if you revisit them, you’ll notice a decided break from traditional tailoring and leather soles. In 2023, designers are letting it loose and reworking the classics taking inspiration from different aesthetics, womenswear staples, loungewear, and streetwear. Kim Jones’s fifth Dior presentation is a great example. The designer’s new work featured sharp cuttings, experimental fabrics, and relaxed silhouettes.

Our favourite French celebrity Timothée Chalamet has been donning some fun fits giving his red carpet couture looks a rest. The Willy Wonka star was sporting a Yankees baseball shirt and pants and a pair of white and green Wales Bonner x Adidas Sambas on his feet.

Apart from Timmy we also spotted Red, White, and Royal Blue‘s breakout star Taylor Zakhar Perez in a Versace cobalt denim two-piece along with a set of Bottega Veneta‘s Lug boots, a round-toed set crafted from woven black padded leather in the Maison’s signature intreccio pattern.

So, if you looking to restyle your look before fall here are some celebrity-approved menswear trends and styles you need to bookmark this season:

1. Classic Tank Tops

Tank tops are back, thanks to the Prada emblem movement this season. These tank tops are a crucial item of the menswear section that every man needs in his wardrobe. These muscle-bearing tops are swiftly emerging as a go-to for guys, especially in high-fashion settings.

It’s commonly believed that some pieces never go out of style; rather they evolve and reemerge throughout time. The bell bottoms or retro pants, one of history’s most iconic styles and a favourite of the 1970s appear to have made a resurgence in the fashiongram, thanks to Mile Phakphum, who is clearly  obsessed with them.

7. Check-Mate

Checks never go out of style, they are always there in some capacity. One of the easiest ways to incorporate these patterns into your everyday wardrobe is through the use of an overshirt or denim shirt.

8. Comfy Sweater Vest

It seems like a fall trend, but sweater vests are clearly winning every season. Spotted on Apo Nattawin, Ryan Gosling, Tyler the Creator and Harry Styles, these vests have taken over Pinterest. They are versatile and can be styled with or without the shirt.

9. Denim Love

A street style staple, denim on denim is one of the most loved menswear look. The denim-on-denim outfit combinations are endless and can be styled in multiple ways. Wear it along with some Converse sneakers or some chunky boots.
